I thought the lighting effects they did looked pretty good, but thanks for the humerous compliment. What a difference translucency makes, huh?

Anyway, here's 1/6 Old Ben. Obviously not quite the amazing effect of the Legendary Scale piece because of the base material, but still came out well, I think.

My word, Nathan...unbelievable! :horror Absolutely beautiful. So excited to finally have some paint on that sculpt that does Trevor Grove's work justice. I've always thought the SSC Old Ben was one of their strongest releases, and with the work you've done here it makes him just about perfect. :rock

And I'm not detecting a shine of any kind, can't wait to pop that sucker on! :yess:

Thanks all. As usual, the pics don't do these justice. Just wait until you (Marf and Round) see them in person.

I don't know what kind of super paint China used on these, but soaking them overnight in my best thinners didn't even remove it. It did however take off the sheen, so hopefully that was enough. You'll have to let me know over time if they start to shine up again. I can redull them if need be.

Seeing as how you knocked out Ben so fast, have you had any luck finding that hair? Never thought about that being an obstacle, but it certainly does have a distinct nature to it.

Oh, I've got it around here somewhere. It's one of those things that over the years ends up never being where I thought it was though, and I eventually find it when I'm NOT looking for it.

Ah I see, it's one of those situations, I know from personal experience all too well. :lol

Why is that so significant?

Cause it's fun to say Eleventy-first.

Sideshow uses some nuclear chemical on their heads. They shine up like crazy. As you know, we've even seen it on older HT heads.

Speaking of which, Maximus is still shine free. :D

Nice! :clap

I think you should celebrate tomorrow by enjoying Second Breakfast AND Elevensies. :duff

And if you're feeling frisky, maybe walk a few thousand miles and toss some jewelry into a volcano.

Congrats, man! Well deserved!

:joy

As suspected, the hair wasn't where I thought it would be, but fortunately, I set the box I was looking into next to the place where the hair was and happened to notice it. I would not have thought to look there for quite a while though.
