Yeah, I heard this Indy project went through mass craziness. The finished sculpts look pretty good in hand though.

STORY is a really great screenwriting book, one of my favorites, his seminar is fantastic as well. Did you ever watch Adaptation? The guy who played Mckee was spot on.

No, I haven't seen Adaptation, but I'll make a point to do that.

All trad or some smiling Indy's in there too?

Both. I like the smiling because it's unique among the many Indy's out there. I'll let you guys decide how good it is though.

Fixed :lecture

I've read the hardcover like 5 times and the audiobook is amazing.

I'm surprised so many people have heard of this book, and I only just got turned onto it by a good friend.

Out of curiosity, why did you (any of you who have read it) read it?

I have a degree in Creative Writing, and dabble in screenplays. I'm a filmmaker as well. My current job is producing and editing promo for broadcast television... and before anyone asks I havent worked on Walking Dead or Breaking Bad. Thank god. I'd hate to watch unfinished episodes for shows I like.

Very cool, Wake. I guess a fascination with figures is an offshoot of a love of stories for many of us. We can look at these figures and immediately recall everything we love about their "lives".

Absolutely. I live and breath this stuff. Hopefully one day there will be commercially available 1/6th scale collectible figures based on characters I've created! That would make me very happy.

Years ago I actually went to the bookstore regularly for a couple weeks and read many of the screenwriting books on the shelf and this one spoke to me the most after just a few pages so I bought it and read it a few times. I liked it so much that I went to his screenwriting seminar, he holds them pretty regularly in New York and LA.

I took the plunge last year ad ended up doing this year long screenwriting program and found out just how difficult it is for me to write screenplays, really wish I had some natural talent :lol I'm doing a workshop right now and struggling as usual.

Are you writing a screenplay?

Yes, I am. Actually, it's something I started in college, and I go back to it every once in a while. But recently, I made a very special client/friend connection, and now I'm really working on getting this thing done right. It's been read once, and then I was gifted with STORY to read. Man, did that unlock was I lacking.

I've been told time and again that I have natural ability, but there were many aspects of story form I just wasn't able to figure out on my own. Turning points, value charge, and hiding exposition inside action were things I didn't have a handle on... until now.:wink1:

McKee has a way doesn't he. I love the way he deconstructs those scenes in Chinatown, Kramer vs Kramer and Casablanca.

I've written 6 or so screenplays. Dozens if you count rewrites and revisions. One screenplay I wrote, for a project called exile went through 6 major rewrites when we trying to secure funding. Ultimately we never did get the funding off the ground. Incidentally we did shoot a trailer for it. https://www.exilemovie.comWww.exilemovie.com if youd like to see it. I learned a lot of valuable lessons. Every script is like a semester of schooling I think though. You have to get through 6-8 of them before you "graduate" I think. Which is why writers always say write as much as you can. I imagine you know exactly what I mean Nathan. Compare the first three or four sculpts you painted to the last 3 or 4. I'm sure the level of improvement is staggering. I won't even show anyone my first script. Ill take it o my grave. Lol.

All right, back to paint business. Here are the first pics of the WGP Indy batch I painted. Only a couple people had special requests for sideways glances, and here are those so far.

I know, I know. Just this one script that I've been revising for so long is completely different from the original six drafts. I'm on the eighth I think. I've got everything where I want it now, but still have some futzing to do.

Yay, I'm officially getting excited. Apparently, my head was in the 2nd batch. . . sooooo, I'm still waiting patiently.

I dig the 'sideways to the left' look the most.

:yess::1-1: I am guessing based off of these pics that this one belongs to me....

Although based off of these pics alone, this one is the most Indy like to me...

I'd have to see more pics to really decide.
I love how the eye positions you do can totally change the feel of the whole. Nice work on these, you are putting the final flourish on what I hope to be the end of my quest to finish my Indy custom. :1-1:

You are correct, Stshammgod. Looking to the right is yours. It is interesting how the two pics you quoted look so different though the eyes are almost the same. I think it's the attitude of the hat brim that makes the difference.

I also like this shot on a stick.
