Both of those Sherlocks are jaw-dropping.

When fabulous painting meets fabulous sculpting ... seriously ... it's magic. I got literal chills. Honestly.

And THAT is why I love this hobby.

Thanks for the great feedback, guys. It's what keeps my standards higher than I think they can go.

Here is kiss from my little doughter to Nathan for this![emoji122] [emoji14] [emoji1]

Thanks, Gido. She is precious! Now don't go spending her college fund on figures.

I wonder how good Nathan's crayon drawings as a child were. My guess....prettayyy good.

I hadn't thought about that before, but I think my attention to detail may actually have started that far back. It's rooted in my competitive nature. If I see somebody doing a better job than me, I try and try to at least rise to their level. I used to see how cleanly the teachers colored, and copied what they did while trying to take it further. So it has been with painting.

And before I got into painting model kits, I used to pencil draw all the time. While I was great at details and shading, I always struggled with proportions. I've gotten better since, but rarely draw anymore. That's one thing I could never be the best at--best in my class perhaps--but there was always somebody better, so I moved on. Stupid ego.

Congrats for your brilliant work on my sculpt Silentsurfer. Those skintones and details are absolutely stunning.
You are probably the best painter i´ve ever seen.
Wish we can cooperate anytime in the future :)

If you keep putting out this kind of quality, I'll want to paint it. This is brilliant.

Now that I look again, you even nailed Brett's eye positions. He had a very ever so slight lazy eye. bravo!

Congrats on such a perfect piece! You did an awesome job on sculpting and Nathan really brought it too life. Really looking forward to seeing more of you two guys together.

@ SilentSurfer: when I look at my Adam Bale head that is roughly 2 years old and your newest work it is exciting to see that even an artist of your standard is still improving his work. Dont get me wrong, I love my head, but the way you paint skintones lately is simply breathtaking. :bow
