To some people yes but art is subjective and some of us like his art. Just like some people worship the ground Alex Ross walks on but I could care less about his art. To each his own.

No no, I won't attack you, you actually speak intelligently. The reason I say "terribly" isn't because of what I would call the "subjective" part of art. I understand that styles vary and with that comes certain amounts of exaggeration. Sam Keith for instance always over pronounces muscles and poses to achieve a more abstract stylization of the characters. I get that, I understand exaggeration and stylization. What I won't accept is Rob Liefelds "anatomy" and use the term loosely, his story telling, and his laziness towards his craft.
If you want me to expound more I'll be glad to in PM otherwise, Let's just say we have a difference of opinion.

No worries Josh I wasn't referring to you. We have always had alot of enjoyable chats on all kinds of issues. Alot of what you say is fair about Leifelds art. Fun you mention Keith but I always disliked his art but for some reason I am a huge Kelly Jones fan and his run on Batman in the mid nineties is one of my favorites on the character but I know alot of people were not happy with him on the book.

I'm weird when it comes to Kelly Jones, I did not like his run on Batman, yet, I love his horror art. I think Kelly fits better with horror comics than he does superhero books. But, mans gotta pay the bills and Batman pays more than Tales from the Crypt or Eerie.

Kelley Jones Batman was fantastic in my humble opinion. He was the only choice for the Red Rain trilogy. I also really enjoyed The Hammer. Now back to the topic at hand ...

yes I love not just liefeld but all the 90s co founders style artwork! Lots of crosshatching, great proportions, overall great artwork to look at! There was so much art that I just didn't read comics. I couldn't even keep up with so much good art coming out at that time.

There is a difference between "I like the proportions he uses", and "great proportions"... one is a statement of opinion and I wouldn't argue with it at all... the other is a statement of fact, and it is ****ing wrong any way you cut it.
When I say I LIKE the Superman Ex... that is an opinion fact base ON my opinion, and as such has NO MORE weight then a used Kleenex. It isn't more or less right then ANYONE else's opinion, yes even yours when you say it is a piece of ****. Those are opinions. Neither of us is right or wrong, it is simply a case of how we feel.
If CBG LOVES Liefeld then that is the way he feels. If he likes his anatomy or proportions then that is the way he feels, and like I said above I wouldn't argue it. However, when he says **** that is wrong I WILL call him on it. Proportions and anatomy CAN be wrong. You can like the work all you want, but these are things that CAN be done wrong, and Liefeld did a GREAT deal WRONG. Oh, not to mention the flat out swiping he did off of other artists.
I am sorry if I am ranting here a bit, but I have been studying art for a long time TRYING to learn the craft, and I can tell you it is a ***** to learn, and those who claim that STYLE is an excuse for IGNORANCE have started to make my blood boil in recent years.... to many excuses heard I guess.
