Yes even the regular edition is limited to 1000 pieces.

I was on the waitlist for the Supermam EX about a month and a half ago and got a similar email. I ended up waiting it out and it converted about a week or so later.

Same, which was suprising as I didn't know I was on the WL for this! I think it makes sense, because even though you 'might' still convert, they know you won't buy the Reg until you feel like you have no shot at the EX.
