Does anybody know what ever happened to any of the Small Soldiers figures that were produced by Stan Winston Studio after the movie was released?

I know it wasn't a big money draw, but 25 sets of these were made and sold for a thousand or two each at the FAO Schwarz Convention way back when - but, apparently, only a handful sold, due to their 'untouchable' price-tag.

I've read just about everything there is to know, but figured I'd ask around here and see if anybody knew anything about them. Saw a thread on here about it, but it was quite a while back.

Thanks.

First I'm hearing of these, but the Commandos like they were in the film have been a grail of mine since they show was released :drool

The Small Soliders Commandos are epic!!! I always wanted them in my collection, they had amazing boxes to!!! I had the 12" Talking toys and they were pretty cool, but id love a high end collectable.

Small Soldiers was an awesome movie!!

Didnt know they did the whole 9 yards for them back in the day but it be cool to see that.

They were pretty much puppets from the movie packaged in near-replica boxes and sold in a (very) limited quality to the public. Constructed, painted, and fabricated by the same people in the same studio. A continuation, if you will.

Take a look there.

Only 25 were made, but they were pretty much a continuation of the screen used puppets.

I've been searching for one for years, and I'm just now beginning to realize just how small of a number 25 is.

I just watched SS this afternoon and had forgotten how cool the Gorgonites looked, I love that film :rock

Great film! I would love to have a few high end pieces from that movie as well.

No kidding.

Just the same as one of these 25 that I've been looking for, though. Three years of looking, my internet was down for a week - and in that week's time, one of them was sold on ebay for less than I was willing to pay. That was 2009, and there hasn't been one on the market since then.

Bad luck, I suppose. Very, very bad luck.

A company should make authentic high end 12" figures of a few Commandos and Gorgonites, or even just Chip Hazard and Archer.

Authentic replicas, right down to the box art. I'd buy them.

Well, these were sold in a catalog, and were pretty much that.

But, yeah, I agree. 25 just wasn't enough.

HI All,

it's great to see so much interests in this movie and the collectables. I am one of the artist that worked on the show and help produce the characters for this film. I also help make the toys as well for FAO Shwartz, I was also curious as to what happen to this toys. I would love to get my hands on some of them as well. :)

I would love for Kenner to finish their line; they left out three of the characters, Butch Meathook, Link Static, and Ocula (correct scale).
