Re: Small_Studios Figure Gallery

Another Raiders PF repaint, or is it ToD this time?

I wish it was the TOD PF I originally painted for Sideshow. I still want another crack at that one. I always thought the TOD version got short changed. I also prefer the more stern expression he sported.

WOW!! Simply fantastic! The eyes, the skin, the beard, the lips, the eyes, THE EYES!

Can you post high res pics?

Here Neehar a higher res photo. You would never pick up some of the detail with the naked eye however. :peace

Re: Small_Studios Figure Gallery

Someone asked for more pics, better to see this and his older counterpart on bodies which I will soon supply. Let me just say there's a few guys work I need to photograph carefully I'm order to make their work look best. In hand things look good, we are talking about a one inch head blown up ten times.

With josh there is no padding, he is that technical. No tricks, lighting angles or retouching,.

It's hard to believe you keep getting better. Further to that you're working from sculpts with a lot less detail than that of hot toys. You don't just pull out detail you create it. People can call me a cheeseball but these belong in a gallery. Yet It's in my closet geek of a closet... With a hundred other figures, all of which are currently packed away mind you but alas,

I've been thinking of creating a blog or even a pintrist that showcases artists work with my photography ive followed, begged and somehow managed to be lucky enough to have about 6 I think? Josh small heads. They've taken things on the bottom of my list to the top in terms of favorites. They deserve a place to be showcased other than my cooking polluted from neighbor underneath, figure closet.

You have to remember guys how much of a craft this is. It takes hours, concentration, passion, raw talent. Break it down and it's not for much money it's about a true passion. I'm glad I found this board for the gift of being able to own artist like Josh's work. Thanks josh and the rest who share that gift with us.

Group hug!

:goodpost: Ray
Posts like yours really light a fire under my butt to keep pushing each paint job. I will continue to offer these guys as long as my eyesight holds up and my steady hands don't give out on me. :lol

Re: Small_Studios Figure Gallery

Either Indy or Han Solo, I'm thinking.

And if that is early stage, I can't imagine late stage detailed work!

Re: Small_Studios Figure Gallery

That is remarkable. That sculpt has never looked so much like Ewan McG. Part of it isn't even the incredible detail, it's sizing the irises to match those of the actor in the first place. Just eerie.

Re: Small_Studios Figure Gallery

Josh, that ROTLA Indy PF paint-up is off to a stellar start! Can't wait to see how it shapes up! :clap

And that Obi-Wan paint-up really shows off what a great Ewan sculpt it actually is. Bravo! :bow

Re: Small_Studios Figure Gallery

Bruce arrived yesterday and this picture doesn't do him justice.
Hopefully one day I can find an affordable great suit for him.

Thanks Josh!

Re: Small_Studios Figure Gallery

:yess:Very nice Alan. Im glad he made it to you safe and sound. That was the last Bruce sculpt I will be painting too. The suit actually doesn't look half bad. You might be able to find one on the bay.

More painted goodness coming after Easter. :peace

Re: Small_Studios Figure Gallery

Welcome to the party pal.....

Working through sculpts left and right. I managed to put the finishing touches on Ericks Die Hard Bruce Willis sculpt. I dremeled the neck so it would fit nicely on the new Hot Toys muscle body.

I added the cut above his eye.
