so who watch the season premier of smallville last night? I did, and I thought it was *ehhh*. This show usually has good season premiers and finales and then crap inbetween. BUT, lois and chloe were hot, so I can't complain too much.

I gave up on Smallville during the fifth season, somewhere between Lana becoming a vampire and Lois becoming a stripper.

i must say i loved the episode that had lois as a stripper!!! my favorite part of the season. :monkey5 :monkey3

I'm a bigger fan every season and I thought this was one of the best openers they've had.

SPOILERS

No teen angst in sight at all (or not much-Hello Jimmy Olson!) just end-of-the-world stuff. I thought the Phantom Zone was cool and it's great how they've set up the crisis for the rest of the season with at least 7 Zoners loose on Earth. Hopefully one is Lyta as well.

And reading the direction for the season with Ollie Queen and a grouping of all the heroes introduced so far, it could be pretty great.

...and Erica Durance is hot.

It was decent, but it made the whole build up to Zod seem so anti-climactic.

YES....same way last season premier ended....two baddies from krypton and clark just kind of pushes them into the phantom zone...kinda lame ending thinking about it again. i just hope no more lana this season...she's just SO boring and useless it hurts me to watch her. at least chloe and lois have some life to them, lana just bugs me...

You took the words right out of my mouth, brother. Being hot was enough to get her through the first couple of seasons, but now that Lois is there it's time to lose Lana.

Lana is no longer an interesting character, and I have never liked their portrayal of Lois. Too much of an airhead to me--I just don't see her becoming an ace reporter anytime soon. I am personally hoping to see Chloe kill Lois and assume her identity, since Chloe is basically how I would have imagined Lois to be throughout high school and college.

lol... maybe you should start writing the episodes Tom. im pretty much tired of Lana as well. and i finally thought they were getting rid of her when she left the country (season 3??). oh well-- im still in love with Erica Durance.:monkey5

Ack NO! I like Lois so much more than either Chloe or Lana. Besides Erica being hot (did I mention that?) I like how she and Clark have a love/hate relationship going on. And I really haven't seen her being much of an airhead - running a senatorial campaign and being a senator's aide at the age of (21?) is good training to become an ace reporter, I think.

Well, like I said, I stopped watching early in the season. So maybe they have done more with her character since then.

Not too much. I found it odd to offer someone a campaign manager position to her when she dropped out of school and really didn't have a job....but that's smalville logic for you I guess....Hopefully her and clark will get together and lana will take a VERY long walk on a short bridge. Seems to me that they set up the Chloe/Jimmy Olsen storyline already in motion.
