I've been flying through the series so far with Netflix. I'm starting season 5 tonight, but then I have to wait for 6 to come out on DVD. eBay, Amazon, wherehouse.com, deepdiscountdvd.com are the 4 places that jump to mind .

And I hate that damn theme song :emperor

I love that song especially when I wear my superman shirt. (just kidding im not that geeky)

Ive seen most of the episodes, and was going to go the Netflix route just to burn them, but I just came to the realization that it would take too damn long. So Im just going to grab the 1-5 box set and wait until 6 comes out on dvd.

I got my eyes on this one. Anyone have any comments? I know there are so many variations of box sets etc, gets kind of crazy.

That might be a bootleg or a foreign set. The seasons have only been released separately in the US. I know Walmart was selling Seasons 1-4 for $15 or $20 a piece around Christmas.

Costco had a bunch of the seasons for cheap. I don't know whether there are Costcos in Hawaii though.

Im in ND right now, no costcos out here :(

but I put in a best offer of $90 on ebay for that 5 season box set and the seller just replied with a counter offer of $100+$10 shipping. Should I jump on it? Way cheaper than that site is selling it for.

I would see if there are any reviews on the net for that box set before buying. I see they are Region 0 and full screen so they may not be very high quality.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay more than $40 per season for that show. You can find that much on ebay. If you had a wherehouse near you, most of the ones around me were going out of business and had then around 90% for like $8.99. I picked up a couple.

Full screen?!?

Don't buy it!! The official DVD releases have all been anamorphic widescreen. I'm not sure where they are getting full screen transfers other than recording them off the TV and making a bootleg boxed set full of burned discs. Beware!!!

I wasnt going to buy that one, i asked the guy on Ebay he said it's widescreen. but it does have the same box as that one in the link....

Weird, maybe I'll just buy each one separately.

They did switch the box design on the fifth season, so they no longer match displayed together on the shelf. Dang!

But they are now putting them out on HD DVD, so mine weren't going to match anyway.

Smallville kept getting better through to season 3. Then 4 happened and it has consistently been downhill since. Lana-Haters say "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH".:emperor

Clark Kent is hardly in the show anymore. The producers shoving Green Arrow down our throats for, what, 4 episodes??

I'm a bit bitter but I can't stop watching NOW, after seeing every single episode. :monkey4

At least Michael Rosenberg as Lex is still reliable (except for his weird infatuation with squirrel-face Lana)

Does HD Dvd play on standard Dvd Drives? (im thinking not, but just wanted to ask to make sure)
