They did switch the box design on the fifth season, so they no longer match displayed together on the shelf. Dang!

But they are now putting them out on HD DVD, so mine weren't going to match anyway.

Can't wait to start Season 5 in HD tonight :chew

Would you mind if I say how much I hate this change??

I have the first 4 seasons and 5th looks thinner and different than others :monkey4 :emperor

Plus, I somehow am not satisfied with the screen quality of the normal DVD version of 5th season. I presume they reduce the quality to convey people to buy HD DVD version :emperor :emperor

I always hate it when they change the box design halfway through the release of a series. I really want them to match. The best thing Fox ever did was offer a mail in deal for a regular box when they changed the Simpsons DVD packaging. The response must have been overwhelming, because now they always offer two different designs. If everybody worked that way it would be fantastic. 24 is another example of a complete design change--season five is completely different. Much worse than the Smallville box revision.

As for the HD quality difference...

/QUOTE]

Is there anything you do have in ND? :D

YES OF COURSE!

snow, wind, extremely cold winters, humid summers with mosquito swarms, people that speak with canadian accents, and Walmart :lol

I think the repeat of "Justice" was the very first thing I watched in HD, ever. It looks so much better than my DVDs I'll probably go back and get 5 in HD. And I have to say that the last half of season 5 is probably the best Smallville has ever gotten. Although I really liked the Green Arrow stuff this season too (but GA's always been a favorite of mine).

As for discounts - Amazon frequently has sales where seasons 1 or 2 of different shows are ultra cheap. I'd look out for that.

I would agree with that. Everything about this second half of the season is great except for lana. writers are trying to turn her into almost a female lex, and I just don't buy it. She has always been the weakest link for the show IMO. How do you guys see smallville in HD, does The CW offer an HD channel, where I live they don't?

I agree that the 5th season was the best so far.
My favorite episode is " aqua" BTW

If you're not joking, I want to punch you. :lol :lol With the exception of Hayden Christensen in Ep. II, the guy who played "A.C" in Aqua is the worst actor in the known universe.

LOL

Actually, I did not think about the actor's roleplaying but I love water and seeing Aquaman(boy) was cool. He is one of my fave characters in DC. I also like the lake view that episode was filmed.

plus lets not forget Lois' red-black bikini huh ? :monkey3

lana is hot, one of the main reasons I watch the show.

If you've watched the Mercy Reef pilot then you know that WB made a great decision replacing A.C. with the guy who played Ollie. He's not a great actor, but I still liked "Aqua" although I thought "Justice" was better.

In my area I have Time Warner Cable which has all the broadcast networks in HD including the CW. I really wish Sci-Fi and Comedy Central were in HD too though.

huh, I also have Time Warner, but no CW HD. I think I'm getting gipped...I second Sci-Fi, can you imagine Battlestar Galactica in HD, :rock :rock :rock :rock

uhhh, i bet that's nice.

I haven't watched it yet! They are on season three and I want to watch it from the beginning. I'm assuming that they will start over and replay the entire series from the start and lead up to the premiere of season four, and if so then I will catch up.

They also air Firefly in HD and I've caught a few episodes of that. (Which isn't hard, considering that a few episodes is all we got before they pulled the plug...)
