I've got a chance for one of these ($130 Canadian)-- but I'll have to make the call soon... Anyone who has one-- Is it worth getting it?... At the moment I'm strongly leanbing towards no.

I got mine for $80 of ebay. I love Timber and I think I am going to hold onto the building until Firefly comes out and display Firefly inside the building planting a bomb and Snake Eyes sneaking around the side. If that doesn't look right I am just going to toss the building up on ebay :lol

I received my Waypoint yesterday. This thing is very nice and I'm happy with the size of Timber (he's not as small as some thought he would be).

Huh. The thing is, timber wolves are huge. My dad had a friend who found one hurt in the woods and kept him in a cage off the back of his house. The animal weighed 250lbs. The guy kept a .45 in a box by the door for when he fed it.

I suppose if Storm Shadow having a backwards bow isn't an issue, Snake Eyes having a dog isn't either. :lol

I think Sideshow might've mixed up the difference between timber wolves and Siberian huskies.

I guess that makes more sense. A big wolf would have been cool though.

The only nitpick I really have for him is the snow base on his foot. What if they're someplace that has no snow?

Makes more sense. :huh :lol

Plus, having an actual wolf take to Snake Eyes is much cooler than him happening on a stray sled dog.

Or a poodle.

:monkey3

Passed on my option to buy this from my local on-line retailer. Did finally get my Stormshadow to come in though. :D

Timber is a wolf. Maybe not an actual timber wolf, but in issue #27 of the Marvel RAH series (the second part of the "Origin of Snake Eyes"), Hawk and Stalker go to pick up Snake Eyes from his cabin in the High Sierras to recruit him for the Joe team. Snake Eyes has been living in seclusion with Timber since his return from Japan after the murder of the Hard Master. As they are leaving Snake Eyes' cabin, Hawk feels bad for leaving Timber behind, to which Stalker replies (paraphrasing of course), "Hawk, that ain't no dog and he sure doesn't eat any Alpo".

That's the line. Question is, did you remember it or did you have to dig out the old comic? :lol I couldn't remember it exactly, but I got the gist of it.

How do you know he wasn't named Timber because he was a Timber Wolf? :tap

Man, a BLIND GUY named him! He wouldn't have known if he was an actual Timber Wolf or not - he probably thought he was a dog for all he knew!

Talkin' about the cartoon of course... but the early mini-series were top notch! ;)

I always just thought he was a mixed breed. The original Timber that came with the '85 SE was fairly small too.

Oddly enough, I pulled out 26 and 27 the other day on a whim. Sometimes its just nice to read really well written funny books. You ask me, G.I. Joe comics center around #'s 2, 10, 21, 26, 27.

(for those who wondered if I actually do like G.I. Joe...)
