I like all things Star Wars. However, there is no doubt the best parts of SW come from the originals. I enjoy looking at the collections of others who have Talon, Grievous, Dooku, Ventress and others - but when I see that, I am reminded of what SW has become and that is a cash cow.

The originals weren't about that - they were about a story, though it was simple, it is how that story was told that changed everything.

Just my 2 cents.

The OT was a cash cow, but it wasn't created for that sole purpose. These days, Clone Wars, Angry Birds Star Wars, the new movies, a possible theme park - those are being created for that purpose only. That's what I don't like.

ok, I get what you're saying and I agree, although I have no issue with it.

A lot of cartoons in the 80s were created solely for that purpose. There would be no He-man, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, and even Transformers if not for Hasbro's ability to make $$.

Rabid collecting of tna Star Wars fluff may mean that it gets inserted into the films to sell more tna fluff and on it goes. We end up with some Fox Force Five sith chick bounty hunter outfit. He's not appealing to me, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the statue. It's just the character means nothing to me. No name, no lines, nothing very iconic about him to me.

Now if they had Gordon in his mesh shirt, that would be something different.

I've just picked up one of the old Diamond ultimate Hoth Hans which I plan on making a snow base for so I guess it should look nice displayed alongside the snow trooper.

Same here, I think he's going to look better in person... I know I was a bit worried with Chewie PF but when I got him he turned out awesome. I'm actually really surprised the Chewie EX is still up for sale on SS website.

I passed on Chewie but I the Snowtrooper looks awesome to me. Then again I am a sucker for OT Imperial Troopers. Great looks. The Clones........not so much.
