So My Wheelchair Van was not starting.

We go to put a different battery in and what do we find? A rabbit has chewed the wiring in my van! :(

True story

My 2013 is starting off just great! :(

I wish I could have my mom take a pic to post for you guys to see, rabbit fur everywhere!

Need to get rid of him in a nice way, without hurting him or her. any ideas anyone?

The Van turns over but does not start, any ideas what the rabbit may have chewed that the van wont start?

The Monster,
Nick

It turns over? It has to be something in the starter/charging system he chewed through, either the battery connectors or the wiring to the starter itself. The little sucker is lucky he didn't get zapped ala the cat in A Christmas Story.

Yeah, gonna be either the starter, the battery, or spark plugs cables, or wiring/connectors to one of those.

There are some wires that go to some kind of black plug thing the rabbit chewed completely off. It's really short can't tell where it came from or what it goes to. If you are facing the hood looking in it's to the right of the engine way down below. I have no idea on this car stuff. I always have a driver since I'm in the wheelchair. My mom doesn't know this guy stuff at all. Can't you tell by our description?:rotfl

Slight correction...

The cat got zapped in "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"

I had that happen, but it was chipmunks that did it. I had it fixed and it hasn't happened since. Not alot you can do to prevent it though unless you're capable of throwing some moth ***** in there someplace. Critters don't like those. I can't because where they chewed my wiring, it's not enclosed and they'd just come back out.

When you try to start it can you see the belts moving or do you just hear the starter spinning?

Do you have a Autozone store near you? If you can get it there they'll look at it for free. If it's an easy fix (changing wires or something) they'll probably even fix it for free after paying for the wires.

Are there a lot of wires that go to the black cap? If so that is your distributor cap. Wires going to it would be your spark plug wires. There is a center wire surrounded by the others. Ignition coil wire I think.
That was my original thought, but a single spark plug would not keep it from stopping, would mean its the coil wire. The first description (ignoring wire) sounds like starter solenoid though.

That's why I asked if belts move when trying to start. If they don't its starter , if they do they then its likely fuel or spark.

(Insert picture of Spock)Sounds logical!
