That was my original thought, but a single spark plug would not keep it from stopping, would mean its the coil wire. The first description (ignoring wire) sounds like starter solenoid though.

That's why I asked if belts move when trying to start. If they don't its starter , if they do they then its likely fuel or spark.

If the starter turns the engine over and it doesn't start because of chewed wires, it is most likely the engine is not getting spark to ignite the fuel. As far as I know, the only thing A starter does is rotate the crankshaft, which moves the pistons and valves and such, by engaging the teeth on the outside edge of the flywheel, and causing the flywheel to spin. A starter is just an electric motor that has a gear on it that spins the engine over. No spark involved there. If the engine turns over, the starter should be fine, as well as the connection to it. Pictures would be helpful. Maybe tiger feces placed under the car would shoo the rabbits away. No, I'm not joking. If a rabbit believes that a tiger frequents the area, it will tend to avoid it.
It sounds like he will be buying some wiring. Rabbits are notorious wire chewers. Destroyed video game controller wires.

(I just saw the video Monster posted. I see that predator urine was mentioned)

This is funny. It makes me think of a very improbable problem that occurred at a manufacturing facility where I inspected a project.

The facility made very large pipes and lined them with cement. They would put caps on the ends of the pipes so that water could be put inside to aid the curing of, and protect the cement lining from damage.

They were finding many of the plastic caps had been punctured at the bottom, allowing the water to drain and causing considerable expense to re-cap the pipes and bring a truck out to the storage area to add more water to the pipes.

The foreman blamed the in-house quality team, as the quality team was hammering them pretty hard for dry linings in the pipes.

One day, as the foreman and one of the inspectors were walking through the storage area, the foreman chanced to see a hare actually puncture the plastic cap with it's fore paw and lap at the water draining out.

It remains a standing joke that whenever a pipe has no water in it...it is the rabbits' fault.

Man! What a hassle having to schedule Bus rides just to get back and forth to my Dr. appointments. Does anyone out here know of any organizations that will help an adult get their wheelchair van fixed? Or help them to get a new wheelchair van?

You may want to call your local disability or social services office. They would probably know who to contact for assistance, or could at least give you some leads.
