Yeah so we are getting Jason from part 4, which I wanted, but no new Bond stuff? I guess the line is dead then huh?

It certainly looks that way. Of course, we'll keep hearing how "nothing is ever dead" at Sideshow. They just aren't doing anything with it. I wish they'd let the license go, so maybe someone else would pick it up. Clearly they don't care to devote any time to it.

At least I don't have to spend any money. Doesn't look like Sideshow's going to get a single, solitary nickel from me this year.

If Sideshow doesn't make a new Bond for Casino Royale then I think we can say the line is dead. Until then, I think the line is just on hiatus. Or maybe to would be more appropriate to say, MIA.

No Bond, no Civil War, no WWI, no planet of the apes, no universal monsters, etc.... I guess all there efforts are tied up in Star Wars, LOTR, and Marvel at the moment. But I collect those too. So I guess SS is saving me some money.

You can't blame them for not making new stuff of stuff that didn't sell that well. IMO, PotA got more than it deserved. The X-files line hasn't even gotten that much! As much as I like the X-files, I can't blame them for not releasing more figures. I am glad we did get Skinner out though. Perhaps a Gray alien might be as far as they go now. I'm a bond fan too, but the line seems to have hit a low mark. Maybe if they can get a YOLT Blofeld out.

Maybe if Sideshow actually made a Bond doll that was requested they'd see better sales. The doll looked amazing, but how many people really wanted a Roger Moore from Moonraker?

To top it all off, Sideshow doesn't seem to have any advanced thought with the line. Wouldn't a From Russia With Love series to launch near the time of the video game have been a smart move? The old film would never be higher in the public conciousness then at that moment. Plus, Red Grant was one of the most requested dolls.

They'll probably miss out on the Casino Royale figures and make that HALO Bond from Tomorrow Never Dies. Then wonder why sales are poor.

I'm not happy with Starwarsshow at all.

As a Bond fan, I'm extremely dissapointed by the lack of anything new 007-wise. How can they say this line dosen't sell well? It's James Bond! There are plenty of great characters waiting to be made:

Baron Samedi

Kananga/ Mr. Big

Donald Pleasance as Blofeld (a 12" Sam Loomis would be cool too!)

Charles Gray as Blofeld

Red Grant

Emilio Largo

Jaws w/ overalls and a blue suit (TSWLM)

George Lazenby in a kilt

George Lazenby in a tuxedo, with a frilly shirt

Roger Moore in a tuxedo

Roger Moore as an Arab Sheik

Roger Moore as a Naval Commander

Timothy Dalton from TLD, with Afghan fatigues and a bullet vest

Timothy Dalton from TLD, with black jumpsuit and parachute

Sean Connery in a gray suit w/ hat

Middle Age Sean Connery with white tux from DAF

Sean Connery as a Japanese Man

Sean Connery as a Naval Commander

Sean Connery in a blue shirt and jeans (Dr. No)

Pierce Brosnan in a casual business suit w/ tie

and Pierce Brosnan in black fatigues from Goldeneye PTS, must have a new headsculpt

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the "Travel Channel World Tour" line of Bond figures! 12" Connery in a white tux or a PF Moore would be good enough, but alas, not even those have surfaced...

Yeah I'm disappointed that no new 007 figures were announced. But I wasn't surprised.
Face it the line had a great run of 24 figures and the latest figures have not sold like hotcakes.
I'll bet we get a Daniel Craig but I'm not holding my breath for a bunch more figures.

I had already written the Bond line off as dead before Toyfair, so I wasn't surprised at the lack of any new Bond stuff. I think there's a silght chance they might still make a PF Moore, but that's it.

James Bond Will Not Return...

I wish Sideshow would just tell us one way or the other if the line is dead.

I was really hoping for Blofeld (Pleasance), Goldfinger and Largo when they first announced this line in 2002. Its been a long wait.

How could I forget Goldfinger!? We definately need him too!

If it was a series of "Travel Channel" Bonds, we'd probably get Sean Connery in a Hawaiian shirt with Las Vegas playing cards, and Roger Moore dressed as a Ghost!:D

There currently is a lot of debate in the Bond fanbase about uncertainlty surrounding the series, particularly about the casting of Daniel Craig and the dramatically different direction of the new film. Personally, I think that many quarters of business that usually get involved in Bond merchandizing are reticent and are holding a "wait and see" stance before commiting on any significant venture. Unfortunately for SS's Bond series, all the other characters waiting for their turn are affected. Who knows? Toy Fair isn't over yet and maybe SS will pull something on the last couple of days like they did last year.

How can they say this line dosen't sell well?

By looking at their bottom line and seeing a lot of items that took a long time to sell out if at all.

And it's been said many times that Bond isn't dead. When Casino Royale comes out there will be a resurgence of interest and at least one more Bond figure.

My fellow Bond fans Bond is not dead. In an interview with Oluf he said there is a new Bond on the way "soon" whenever that is. And last night in chat with Andy he said the Bond line is "alive and kicking and shaking but not stirring" or at least that is a very close quotation. Have faith my friends, and if that is lacking have a martini, you know how its done.

It would be nice to have official clarification of some kind about whether the line has a future.

Well that's news to my ears. I guess I'll have to be patient just a bit longer!

Well, it's good to hear that Bond isn't being retired from active duty, the line surely appeared all but dead. I just hope the we don't have only Casino Royale stuff to look forward to.
