33 years old, starting collecting as a child. MOTU and Star Wars were my first loves.

46 years young. I've been collecting since I can remember. The problem I had was being a military brat and then in the military myself. Whatever I was collecting ended up getting sold due to moves, etc. So, this stage of my collecting started in 2001. The medium and subject matter has changed since then: started off with the Toybiz LOTR figures which eventually led me to Sideshow and my first statue purchase: Sauron. Toybiz was making excellent Marvel figures so that reignited another fire and I collected all of the Toybiz Marvel Legends. Again, this morphed into Sideshow statues when they got the Marvel license.

Since then I've tried to focus the collection on the Bruces: Banner and Wayne in statue format.

I turned 27 last month. I've always loved toys and collecting things, but I didn't start collecting seriously until 2011.

I turn 21 in February & started this hobby earlier in the year. Hopefully I can find a stopping point in this hobby soon, as my figure collection has grown very quickly.

I'm 30 and have been collecting 1/6 for about 1.5 years. I have other PF and min boxes. Collected as a kid and took a break while I tried to date, go to college, etc. Went home one day and saw my 1988 original Donatello MIB and just fell in love al over again with collecting. Loved TMNT, Star Wars, exo Squad, and Power Rangers. Still collect 3/4 of those.

22. Been collecting figures for years and more recently statues.

I expect more people to be older because this hobby is expensive. But it's addicting and I love it.

So I was wondering how old is the collecting community. Are you planning to stop? when did you start?
Let me start I'm 30 and I start collecting just a few months ago but I hope I can continue for a long long time. I can't imagine selling my collection or locking it in a dusty closet.

Why would you "plan to stop"? It a hobby, not a diet. :lol
I dont think anyone plans to start or stop this type of hobby. Usually the reason people stop collecting and sell off their collection is because of bills, family, etc. Nothing wrong with that.

Im just about 25 and I began collecting when I was 9. I starting with Star Wars collectibles as a way to bond with my Grandmother after my Grandfather passed when I was 7. By the time I reached my 20's my Grandmother, Brother, and I had accumulated over $2,000 in value of Star Wars toys. Unfortunately theyre all in storage since we have no place to display them all. After that I was a typical Hot Toys guy until about 2012 when I began to sell off all of them and over the last 2 years began working in the custom hobby. Now its my full time job.

31. Started about 2 years ago with small items I could afford. I did buy a few McFarlane sports figures back in the day that I've kept, but my serious collecting started this year with the Superman PF & has quickly gotten out of hand. It really kicked in when I got the space & a job that paid really well. I need to be careful though, or my wife is gonna throw down the hammer.

(Looking for a Donatello EX. btw :wink1:)

41 and a collector since a kid with Star Wars and GI Joe 3 3/4" figures. Still have a few of them but most have been sold off. Now it's 1/4 and 1/5 scale statues.

32. Started buying about 4 years. Got a Hot Toys Bank Robber Joker with his leg snapped off. Had to buy a Ttm19 to replace the body And so customising began soon after.

20. I've been collecting Transformers, Marvel Universe, some DC figures, and Star Wars figures since I was a kid. About a year ago, stopped buying 3 3/4" figures and started buying Masterpiece Transformers and 1/6th scale figures. So far I have a collection of 10 1/6th scale figures and have quite a few coming down the pipeline. After the Guardians of the Galaxy figures, I'll probably start slowing down on collecting.

I just turned 41. Been collecting since I was a freshman in HS. Started with comics then moved on to action figures.
