Can I get a "WOO"? How about a "HOO"?!!

Star Wars and now 12" LotR, if this doesn't start a 1/6 scale renaissance I don't know what will. So remembering that this is a completely seperate line from the SS/W statues - which of the these characters should get made sooner rather than later?

I really don't want to get into another huge line, but what can you do? Out of the above I can't resist getting a Gandalf. I have the Toy Biz Gandalf and Ringwraith. Any offers? Phhht.

I don't think Gandalf will be the first, but he is my most wanted. I would love to see The Mouth of Sauron as the first figure in this line. You there Brian? Can you help us out at all?

The LotR 1/6 figures has something for everyone. You can be a completist or confine yourself to baddies, elves, goodies, so many options. So many options for accessories, and bashes.

WOO :banana HOO :banana

Dear Diary,

Day 105
i was on the road to recovery as far as collecting figures went and then i saw one i liked. so i put myself on the waitlist. and then slowly, though i wanted out, they pulled me back in.

here i now sit, pondering to myself, i could quit at anytime... sure, the first one wasn't free, but i could quit at any time i wanted to...

but my dealer... my dealer won't let up. celebrities, fife and drum..., movie characters... and then horror movies and star wars... i told myself, enough, i was going to go clean. work my way back to the road to stop collecting...

but no... my dealer was smart, for i have now been branded by a black bracelet that says Collect for Life... in silence, i cry for i kiss away any money i have... my dealer has unleashed yet another for me that i know i am too weak to resist... 1/6 Lord of the Ring figures...

I can only wonder what the coming year will be like...

Hmm. Gandalf would be a cool one to start off with. As much as I'm sure the mainstays of Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli will sell out quickly... i dunno which one should be first... so i selected a lot of them... Hmm...just imagine if SSC only did 1/6 horses too... a second chance to get a ringwraith on a steed and not go broke in one shot. :) ha ha, I'm sure Beru and I can dream.

I voted for Gimli! If this line will be as good as the Star Wars line, I'm pretty sure I'll be hooked on it in no time at all

I voted for Gandalf but to be honest Im not really too worried who they bring out 1st. Given the look of SS's 12" figure lines over recent months, the detail seems to be getting better and better. Im collecting the Star Wars line so will probably dip into this one too.
Im more of a 'baddies' fan so will wait for the Mouth of Sauron on a steed :D (hint hint)

So are these the same scale as the Weta statues? Might be cool to get the odd one to fill in gaps IF that's the case. I wouldnt mind seeeing what a Gandalf or a Frodo would look like, but I'll be waiting for a Mouth of Sauron too!

I voted Gandalf. I would like to start off with someone from the Fellowship. I'd also like to see Elendil and Isildur done at somepoint.

I voted Faramir (Also I want him in 1/4 PF too) as he was omitted in Weta line. I prefer Faramir in his Ranger's clothes with the White Tree on the Leather Doublet. I think that is an awesome costume! Hope SSW does it!

I'd like to see Gandalf the Grey to kick off the line. A very iconic piece to get the line off on the right foot.

I don't have any 12" pieces, so these will be my first.

Like creecher said it is easier to be a completist with these pieces rather then the P.F. pieces.

Odds are I will get one or two P.F. pieces and collect the line of 12" the more I think about it....

I voted Aragorn because it's a strong start to the series. I doubt it'll be a Hobbit and I think Gandalf is too big of a character to be first. Just like Darth Vader couldn't be first.

One of those Moria orcs would be cool, those guys looked wicked.

From the available choices though, I'd go with Gandalf the Grey.

voted Gandalf, but sideshow when you do Gandalf make a real hat with the same kind of material! Gandalfs large hat would look alittle wierd sculpted to me.

Nothing really wrong with this, but considering the impact of the New Line Cinema movies and Aragorn's role... how can you say Gandalf is too big a character to start with, but can go with Aragorn? both alone can go with two costume styles. :) But oh man, Aragorn as Strider, and Aragorn as Elessar...and then there's gandalf the grey and gandalf the white...

and then there's Battlegear Elrond, and Leisure Suit Elf Elrond, and then there's Agent Elrond confronting Mr. Aragorn into revealing the exact location of Frodeus and the Oracle ring...

By saying too big, all I meant is that Gandalf is the common denominator in the trilogy. Aragorn is a character that everyone would get and is the swashbuckler of the series. :D

Agree that they should start off strong with an instantly recognizable character (even for non-die hards). Gandalf and Aragorn would fit the bill. :gandalf :aragorn Frodo also, but dunno if they're ready to go with the smaller figures quite yet.:frodo BUT, wouldn't be too disappointed to see a Bloom-looking Legolas. :legolas

(Still love using the LOTR icons :D)
