I'd like to see this be an ES of about 250-500, but I know that won't happen.

I just read that. I guess it isn't "extremely limited" anymore, given all the interest. I think it will be around 1000, although 750 makes more sense for something extremely limited. I think it will look great, just so freakin big with wrong scaled dimensions. Good luck to those getting this.

I'm definetely getting this, no matter what. I'll probably won't go retailer since I do want the rewards points.

I want this so badly, I already started up a fund:

BUY MY SH*T!

I will order it to make sure I get in but will then order it from a retailer if there is not an exclusive.

:)

I really want this but I'm considering going through FlexPay for this....I wonder when you'd have to start paying?

Same here. Of course if the es is around 1000, I will just wait for it to drop on ebay.

They already announced there is no exclusive.

I guess it's pretty clear that there won't be an Exclusive edition.
The PPO mailsays this:

" This will be the only edition of this item offered and will be available in a strictly limited quantity, so be sure to lock in your pre-order during this event"

The edition size for this piece will be TBD and the price will be $799.99 with FLEXPay available.

Bad news, IMO. For some reason, I felt more comfortable with the idea of paying $800 for something that would have a lower edition size and would be a bit more rare.

But on the other hand--TBD means that we won't have the prospectors jumping on board because of a low run. Maybe the TBD will bring out only the serious customers, and then they will announce a low ES after all.

On the other other hand, everybody is going to order one through Sideshow just in case, and then order another through retailers for the better price. Then they will cancel their Sideshow order after the ES is set, resulting in an inflated edition size and several unsold pieces when all is said and done.

And that's exactly what will happen.

I also believe scalpers/speculators will order one hoping for a low ES.

HAve they ever used the "strictly limited quantity" things before for another item?

But SS can't do much about it, other than change their cancellation policy or implement a down payment/deposit--which isn't a bad idea on an expensive item like this.

If they announce a low ES when the order goes up, the scalpers will pounce. If they leave it TBD people will double order and cancel after getting it cheaper. It costs nothing to preorder this $800 item, yet the market value will drop due to the cancelled orders, overproduction and inflated edition size. So either way there would be problems.

If I were Sideshow, I would leave the edition size as TBD when the order goes live, and require a non-refundable $50-100 deposit. I think we would end up with a nice and low ES with that approach.

That's a bad deal on your end... I and several others have mentioned this before; the Reward Points are equal to a 5% discount (20 points equal 1 dollar), but most of the retailers give the maximum allowed discount of 15% off pre-orders, so you are throwing away 15% now to get that 5% from Sideshow later, in essence, giving away 10%... bad collector, bad! :lol

Do you really think that the ES will change based on today or could it be one where they know what it is, its set but we are not saying yet.

Exactly...

It's possible. I still say the reason why the Darkness PF Ex was delayed was because they bumped the ES up due to all the hype.

I don't recall. It made me think that they were saying, "There will NOT be an exclusive edition with a set low ES and an accompanying regular edition with a TBD size. There will only be this one edition, and the run is limited."

Now it seems like they will be making as many as they want or as get ordered today. My interpretation: Strictly limited means a certain predetermined number, no more and no less. TBD means that interest is higher than they expected and as many people that want one can get one.

UNLESS they really do have a low ES in mind and they just aren't announcing it to keep scalpers away. I have my fingers crossed for that scenario...
