Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Am I the only one hoping that Lucasfilm/Disney just cancels the movie? Switching directors, multiple reshoots, rumors of a lead that can't act, the signs are pointing to this not being good. The only positive that Solo has going for it at the moment is that expectations couldn't get any lower.

I agree with cancelling it.

I mean I know they already invested 500 million into it and there are about 100,000 legal binding contracts attached to the project not including all the merchandising contracts but I say screw it just simply ignore all of that and have Iger pop his head into the legal department and say “It’s cancelled.”

lulz

no, it shouldn’t be canceled. regardless of it’s hard time being produced so was RO. And that turned out great. I’m actually really excited to see how this film is handled. A SW gangster/racing flick? Count me in.

There’s no Grace video on the subject so for all we know that’s how Hollywood works. :lecture

Han can’t possiblyrace, his medichlorine isn’t off the charts!

:lol judging by the picture released a few days ago, it looks like he might be racing speeders.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

-races speeder, wins
-Lando is in attendance
-Has a ship for the kessel run
-Lando is Han’s sponser
-Han wins the falcon as payment for winning the kessel

hopefully we see chewies life debt.

I don't hope they cancel it b/c if a studio wants to do *stupid and greedy* cash grabs nothing sez I need to pay attention. Which is my opinion about having to know? more about film Solo's background, which I really don't. His intro to SW was perfect waaaaaay back.

It's mildly annoying thinking of all the money and time that could have been spend on something fresh and original (or the BW movie), but agree out of the gate this film has the whiff of a bomb. The departure of the original directors because of their "freewheeling style" was particularly bad IMO - directors with a more organic style have been able to pull off some great films. Ron Howard is a respected director but strikes me as "the safe choice".

Also the point could be argued but nothing about the lead sez Solo to me + rumored poor acting skills.

I'm not alone:

Full disclosure: even if I had every reason to believe the upcoming Han Solo standalone film will be the best movie since Mac and Me (it’s the better E.T.), I still wouldn’t be excited. Han comes right under Darth Vader in the list of characters that are absolutely made less cool the more you know about them. I don’t want to see the first time he met Chewbacca. I don’t want to know where he got his vest. I don’t give a **** who his parents are or what they do, or the first time he got his heart broken etc. He’s a space pirate that smuggles **** with his cool ship and his dog-bear co-pilot. That’s all I need. But here we are. And just two days from the rumored drop of the first trailer for the upcoming movie, the word on the street, from YouTube channel Mr Sunday Movies' The Weekly Planet show, is it’s going to be a steaming mess.

Initially, fans were worried when Phil Lord and Chris Miller got the axe, but if you were like me when you found out why you sorta understood. Improv? Ace Ventura? Fair enough, Disney. But then Ron Howard jumped on board, and I like Howard just fine, but the last thing a Han Solo prequel film needs is a milquetoast director for hire. If you’re gonna make a Star Wars prequel interesting, you gotta have some edge, take some risks. Howard doesn't scream risks. Even still, a flat, toothless Star Wars movie is still a Star Wars movie. Rogue One was a pandering mess and I saw it three times because I miss my wife—also Star Wars! But friends, apparently it’s worse than that. The Hollywood Reporter claims Alden Ehrenreich reportedly isn’t the best actor and has been exhibiting standoffish behavior on set. that Lucasfilm were not happy with Ehrenreich's performance so they brought on an acting coach. Moreover, Disney knows they've got a dud on their hands and they're bracing themselves for the worst. I’m sure Kahtleen Kennedy and CO. are extra cautious after the unexpected backlash of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Take all of this with a grain of salt obviously, but also who cares it’s just a movie. A ******, boring movie that no one asked for.

She really does just pull stuff out of her butt.

Just like me lol but she actually makes a living off it.

That’s it time for the jye/Khev YT show!

I love the Jumanji hurt TLJ posts.

Disney is even collecting on the Jumanji box office. :lol

Forget the fact that Jumanji was directed by Kasdan’s son but ILM was paid to make Jumanji :lol

Disney owns a core component of the filmmaking process they win even when they lose lol

But yeah keep the taking out Kennedy fantasy going I love the humor.
