Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

The cameo wasn’t needed but hardly the worst scene in the movie....mud scene speaking wookie and the pursuing shower wtf...lol

My only problem with the cameo is it requires knowledge of the non-film SW universe. Most moviegoers will be like WTF!?

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Here they are, assembled for your convenience! :D

  • Gold dice
  • Holographic chess
  • Han meets Chewie
  • Han meets Lando
  • Chewie pulls arms out of sockets
  • Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs
  • Han wins Falcon in a game of Sabacc
  • Han learns to shoot first
  • Han punch-hugs first
  • Dogfight involving Falcon’s gunner stations
  • Find out Wookiees hate losing Dejarik

Dang, knew I forgot one:

  • Mention Chewie is 190 years old. Cos, y'know, he was *exactly* 200 in ANH

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Cameo was the best part in the movie for me. Loved it and can’t wait for more now.
Easily the worst part was L3...terrible forced character that was not needed and more annoying than JarJar.

The movie itself was fun for sure and so much better than expected. Some cringe moments for sure but overall it worked. Another small cameo was also very cool.

Rankings:
TESB
ANH
ROTJ
TPM (final 30 minutes are still epic)
Clone Wars cartoon (Great show overall)
TFA
Rogue One (Love the edited version with classic Williams music, Vader end sequence still gives me chills)
Solo
ROTS
Ewok movies (original Mace rocks!)
AOTC
Rebels cartoon
Holiday Special
TLJ

Thanks to the poster that mentioned this is already bootlegged, I had this on while I fell asleep last night.

Man, can't believe how fast they had a bootleg online.....pirates don't mess around.

I understand my opinion is meaningless and makes no difference to anyone else, but that's why we're here isn't it? Just to share our opinions?

This movie was soft, hot crap. I can't imagine paying for it and sitting through it once let alone wanting to see it again. At least it's harmless nonsense and didn't offend me on a molecular level like TLJ did. But this is just mindless, soulless product.

If you liked it, cool. I guess you're a lot more patient than I am. It's a strange feeling, being "over" movies. I've always loved movies so much...they were the pinnacle form of entertainment for most of my life. But as a medium, they're just done.

I don't WANT to hate everything. I don't enjoy being bitter and disappointed. But it's the way it is. It's like realizing there's no Santa Claus I guess. Once that' magic is gone, you can never get it back.

Now I guess I'll just sit in my dark room and wait for the silence of the grave.

It wasn't Infinity wars but I liked it, loved seeing Han and Chewie again. There were all times I swear billy dee was in this movie, Hoover did a great job of channelling him..

My theatre wasn't full either, personnaly the **** show that was the TLJ has killed SW, great job Disney

dis dude is a mega huge star wars nerd and even he found it boring as hell

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

So there's a chance that RO will make more than Solo. That's embarrassing, since Han Solo is like the Batman of the SW brand. Then again, it's a Ford-less film, so maybe that doesn't help. Maybe TLJ also influenced the popularity of Solo.

My prediction came true

Critical and financial bomb.

TPM opened with 64 million lulz

Boxofficemojo is pumping it with sunshine.

Or it could be the general public is getting tired.

After being bored with RO, my woman says she wont watch anymore sw flicks.
