As with most third parties, SooSoo entered the game by recasting other people's/companies sculpts. Now they do their own stuff.Damn, care to elaborate?
It's a personal stance, his precise choice. It's not a statement to the industry. He owns his place, he decides what he sells. His place, his rules.
It's probably because it was just related to people he personally knew or is friends with. Mars Toys has also stolen and recasted other artists work with their early stuff and they're now doing sculpts in-house, much like SooSoo is but he sells their stuff just fine.
To me neither sculpt is 100% there, they're stylized and both have their strengths and weaknesses but in the end I think they manage to capture the character in both seasons.

At first I thought that too,as it reminded me BvS sculpt and thought they just altered it,but no,it's a brand new sculpt,similar expression and the same person, so of course it would look similar. I think it looks just fine. Likeness is close enough to not complain.

From what I read long ago, it’s not like they recast like Mars Toys did to a well known artist and sculpt. I think it was the Logan figure, Kit and Eleven made theirs, at the same time Soosoo made theirs too. It was SST earlier product. Kit said SST stole a sculpt from them. What I can see as a spectator is they are both different sculpt. I remember it was an accusation, and the conclusion I thought was Soosoo used Eleven sculpt and modify it to make their own sculpt. I may be wrong, so you can correct me. In the end, it was a different head sculpt, and I don’t know the story from SST side. So that is why Kit doesn’t support them.
I like Kit and he seems pretty chill so there must be a solid reason for it. He’s sticking to his guns so fair dos.
Vaguely remember drama over their Constantine sculpt, both accused the other stealing the digital files for the sculpt . Think it got pretty mean. The whole situation is different from recasting available sculpts so in defence of Kit I don’t think it’s hypocritical. Didn’t follow the drama and had no interested in a tv Constantine but I think Eleven ended up cancelling theirs because SooSoo rushed there’s out first.
It’s weird, I went to GT and couldn’t find it. Had to search for it and bam, got my 2x POs in.Why Giantoy is so late?
