I haven’t watched the Titans TV show, and currently don’t have time to. But I have to say! after seeing this photo on the r/hottoys subreddit

my interest is piqued in pairing the figure with Hot Toys BvS Batman.

If I decide to pull the trigger on this I would think of him as a head canon representation of the Robin that exists in the Snyderverse from the charred suit that we see in BvS and that’s alluded to by Joker at the end of ZSJL.

Here’s an in-hand review from Justin:

But to complicate this idea, there is also Toys Era “The Heir” to choose from as well, see this thread: 1/6 - Toys Era 1/6-scale The Heir (aka Robin)

And here is Justin’s review of that figure:

One reason I hesitate is that if/when… when (!)… we get Zack’s JL 2, we’ll surely be treated to a flashback scene of Joker killing Robin. And that will likely use a different actor and suit. But even so, I suppose until that time I can enjoy this head canon pairing…

On a personal note, I’m in a bit of a quandary for Christmas this year, as I’ve made it a tradition now to treat myself to a 1/6 figure—and this year there’s nothing that interests me that will available by Christmas (except possibly for Soosoo’s Rorschach aka “Hermann” but I’m not holding my breath that it’ll release in time to make it under the tree). I’ve got the Batman-Superman ZSJL two-pack, Cyborg, and Rorschach all on preorder. And the idea of pairing Batman with a Robin that essentially matches up with the charred suit we see in BvS is a fairly attractive idea to me… I might just go for it. Probably the Soosoo version.

if you’re interested in this figure are you liking the look of Soosoo version better? They both look pretty good to me.

I guess neither version of the Titans suit, i.e., Soosoo vs. Toys Era, is a perfect match with the charred suit in BvS. But my head canon would be that the suit evolved and there were slightly different versions of it, just as we see with Batman.

And I might just have to pull the trigger on a third party ZSJL Joker for such a display. Or maybe I’ll wait to see if there’s a release of an Ayer cut SS Joker to that would match up well with such a display. Not that I’d be expecting any such thing. But I’d keep an eye out.

The Joker that killed Robin would be a Suicide Squad era Joker, though.

I'd like to see this made at some point. Surprised it hasn't really. Jazz Inc might tackle it with their DC license.

My Soosoo Toys Robin is out for delivery today. Really looking forward to getting him.

I saw this interesting photo on Facebook where Nicholas Wong re-haired Robin. I think it looks great!

got mine today ,very pleased with it ,i also have the toys era version ,any one know of or able to suggest a head sculpt for the guy who plays jason todd on the show as i think the suit production and figure size differences would work for a kit bash of robin mark 2

Any suggestions about where to buy him? Looks like he's out of stock at Gianttoy.

Since things are so slow for DC figures slow I'll go off on a tangent here...

Dang, I wish I felt strongly about this figure! This is unfortunately not an automatic order for me. This one is fairly abstract for me since I'm not interested in the TV show. For me it would just be a representation of the Robin that's referenced in the Snyder films. And perhaps only a temporary one at that, i.e., since if we ever do get JL 2 and 3 from Zack (or another director with Zack as producer) there will surely be a flashback scene of Robin's death. Ditto should we ever get a Batfleck solo film or miniseries.

I've been stalking Instagram for pictures of this guy. He looks brilliant. Mine is out for delivery today, and he can't get here soon enough! I'm really hoping sooooo gets to the rest of the Titans.

That's a great display! But, um, you might want to take a lint roller to Bruce's coat...

Quick review: my new favorite figure. The staff breaks down into three parts: middle hand grip and two ends. The thinner sections are with the ends. The warnings don't mention it, but it's impossible to get the staff in his hands without damaging something unless you take it apart first. Still, super glue fixes that mishap in a jiffy. The likeness is killer. HT quality. The costume is very nicely tailored and flexible. The material choice is amazingly giving. I really love this figure. He looks so good, and in hand he feels like quality stuff.

Thanks man! Please post some pics!

This is consistent with Justin's (of Justin's Collection) review btw. This really helps cement my choice to pull the trigger on getting this figure.

What I'm seeing on the Soosoo Fans FB page is people commenting on how awesomely this figure pairs with their Batman figures. It seems to look especially good alongside BvS and JL standard suit Batman.

This is the sort of thing I use a hairdryer for to soften up the hands in order to make them pliable enough to fit an accessory into.

Ryan of Jedha Patrol loves it as well. Great review man, thank you!

I'm totally sold. So getting this.

The whole time I was like, "I should dip this in boiling water or get the hairdryer... Nah, I'm too excited!" Totally on me, especially since the workaround is built into the staff. Duh. I'm stuck painting my hallway tonight. I'll get some pics up later.

Yeah, Ryan in the above video mentions that it took several minutes with the blow dryer to soften the hand up enough to accept the staff. One video review mentioned that he forced the staff into a hand and that that causing the paint app on the inside of the glove to flake. So it sounds like we just have to be patient about the time it takes to soften the hands enough.
