Jerry's has better sculpt and pose imo

The rivalry between SOTA and Pop Culture Shock will probably never go away, but I think when SOTA's new Ryu is finished people are going to be pleasantly surprised.

There is no doubt SOTA has considered the popularity of Jerry's 1/4 scale Street Fighter line and the fact that some would automatically cry "copy cat" when they announced what they were doing. For this reason alone I feel SOTA is really going to turn out something great because of the expectations they have to surpass.

SOTA's 1/6 line is really nice in my opinion. (The Chun Li, Ibuki, and R. Mika are not SOTA.)

Actually I like this one much more than the Pop Culture Shock one. I could see why he chose that pose for Ryu but this has the action I was looking for. I'm watching this with great interest since there hasn't been a PCS Street Fighter piece that has made me bite just yet.

Like some of Sideshow's PFs, this guy looks like he is posed so that he will complement another statue. Possibly Ken. Hopefully not that stupid guy with the beads.

Like Mike said, there hasn't been a single PCS Street Fighter piece that impressed me yet. It's an acquired taste, but I'm not a fan of their sculpts at all especially the female sculpts in general. I think this one would cost a lot considering it's mix media with gimmick elements. The execution has to be perfect in order for me to even consider.

Yea the pose looks good but I don't know, I kinna like the beads guy, Akuma, lol. The bad guys makes the good guys looks good?!!

Not a fan of PVC...is it confirmed that it will be? Or is it gonna be polystone? Sota is well known for PVC right?

A rep from SOTA announced this over a month ago.

What's wrong them doing a 1/4 Ryu? I'm looking forward to it.
Nothings wrong. its just that its going to be a pain in my pocket since its going to be a new line! lol.. More spending. Well I hope they do come out with Akuma version so I can pair it with my PCS 1/4 scale.

For me SOTA Ryu ,Sagat and Blank is the perfect pose for its character.. I hope it was just 1/4 scale... If sota did Ryu using this pose for a 1/4 it will be an epic..

No, SOTA does resin. No PVC that I'm aware of, at least not with their Street Fighter stuff.

Pop Culture Shock is planning a 1/3 scale Ryu in a fireball pose. Jerry said he is going "all out" with "no cost being spared". Will probably be REALLY expensive.

i missed out in Jerry's 18" Mixed Media Ryu, I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. To be honest, I was never fond of the POP CULTURE SHOCK Ryu pose. It seemed a bit too boring for the most exciting character in the game.

On the other hand, SOTA's pose is a bit strange. I am unsure if the his about to deliver a right punch or use his left arm to block an incoming strike. The first picture on the left shows his weight on his back foot in a fighters stance ready do explode, yet the final image on the right looks horribly awkward with his core in limbo (not over the from or back foot). Kinda strange looking pose.

It's cool there is going to be an option to the Pricey-Limited POP CULTURE SHOCK Ryu, but i wish SOTA made a more practical and exciting pose...I'll have to wait and see. Seems like a pass for me.

What's the difference between resin and PVC? I am sure there's a diff...maybe I should google it lol.

how can you compare when Sota's is not even sculpted, yet. This is just a digital illustration. I say, give them time to show some WIP pics.

IMO, SOTA's style has the same feel and look as PCS. I have SOTA's SF line and the sculpt looks very similar to PCS SF line. For me, one thing that SOTA lacks is a good paint-app.

ps...I am also looking forward to the new PCS Ryu. I am glad that Jerry is doing this since I am not a fan of the stance of the 1/4 Ryu.

it'll probably be sculpted with z-brush

jerry's style is very much like udon whereas i think sota go a little more realistic and imo the pose looks awkward and off balance

This statement surprises me. With the exception of the Ryu and Evil Ryu that SOTA did, the paint application on the rest are next to perfect, at least the statues that I own are. Blanka's might be the best.
