I wanna see this one, hopefully i'll go sometime soon.
Just got back from seeing this. Thought it was great! Although, I was pretty confused at the end. Can anyone explain the end to me? lol.
The source code that has sent Captain Colter's conscious into the body Sean Fentress has actually created an alternate reality that continues, even though Colter's body has died in the reality from which he came.
Ok, So why did Goodwin get an e-mail from Colter, but Rutledge didn't get the phone call? Rutledge said it was cause the Rutledge he called was in a different universe, or whatever. So did he call the Rutledge at the end, because since he stopped the explosion/terrorist that Rutledge never used the source code?
Just got back from seeing it. Really great movie!
I'm kinda torn about the ending though. On the one hand, it was nice to see that Coulter got a "new lease on life" with the alternate reality, but a part of me thinks it would've been a much more beautiful and tragic ending if it ended after Goodwin pulls the plug, they kiss and the freeze frame panning out to show everyone on the train laughing and enjoying themselves, with us knowing that they are all dead.

Yeah I have to agree if they had ended it there, I would have been greatly satisfied. Still, I was happy with the ending we got
I thought the ending was kind of perfect, we really got it both ways. I thought they were going to freeze it on the kiss. They held it just long enough that I came to terms with that ending and was a bit disappointed that Rutledge was correct. And when they started it up again I was almost cheering in my head because the romantic in all of us wants it to be real for Coulter. Too bad about Sean though - he's the only one that really died from the bomb in the new reality.

Ok, Now that you bring it up.
Do you think Christina still saw Colter as Sean at the end or was he from that point on Colter? Cause I don't think she would react to him the same.
She still thinks he is Sean, as he never revealed to her his true identity in the last Source Code sequence. I assume he would now withhold this information, as he as seemed at peace with his previous life ending when he consoled his alternate father over the phone. There is no point claiming to be Coulter-Stevens when the Coulter-Stevens of the alternate reality is still existing in the Source Code facility. I think he would be happy for the new life he was given and move on
The ending left it open for so many sequel possibilities too. Coulter has essentially folded himself - he's in the new reality as himself and as Sean. In a sequel he could team up with himself to stop a new threat. But I guess he couldn't fold himself again, since that would start a new reality.
