Hmmm... Spaceballs the Animated series? Any word if Brooks is actually involved? And I hope they can get John Candy to reprise his role, oops... nevermind :monkey3

Ill Jedi has invoked the name of my Avatar ... his nads shall feel the force of my Schwartz!

Dude, I swear I made that post only after having seen the Sandtrooper Dio! :D

Just now I saw that you had replied and the image of you Avatar popped into my head! :lol

Very well ... as long as you recognize the Desert Mack ... :lol

To be honest, I am hesitant about the cartoon. Don't get me wrong, I want it to be good ... but, will they actually let Brooks be "funny". Some of Brooks' funniest films poked fun at race and racial stereotypes ... I am reminded of "pardon me while I whip this out." :D I had a discussion about this matter a while back and a friend of mine brought up a good point. Some people think Brooks has backed away from cinema and TV because of his age or lack of inspiration. However, that's not it. In an interview (might have been Charlie Rose ... not sure), he said that the "P.C." nature of the current cinema just turned him off of making films. He felt that there was too much studio control and other social pressures limited his ability to express himself in the medium. Sure, you can make 55 sperm/ masturbation jokes in our post-Mary world, but the minute you make an off-hand racial joke, people are picketing the theater. As Brooks has pointed out in the past, if you make fun of all the races ... a sort of equal opportunity lampooning of everyone ... how exactly is that racist? Would a film classic like Blazing Saddles even be allowed to be made in today's world?

So, I hope Spaceballs the Cartoon is good - "Brooks" funny entertainment. But, the jury is out until I see an actual episode or 2.

Desert Mack. :lol

I too hope the Spaceballs Cartoon is funny, it's a damn shame that Mel Brooks feels that way. His movies are classic, some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen and they never get old. I'd love to see what he could pull off today if he had total control, I'm sure it would be hilarious.
