Matthew Fox has been signed to play Racer X in the Wachowski Brother's movie. (I was going to make a joke about him getting "lost" and decided against it.)

It's weird that they're making a "G" rated movie considering how many guys were killed in the original cartoons.

This cast is really amazingly packed....I have very high hopes for this film especially with Christina Ricci as Trixie, she already looks Anime....big eyes....round face....huge ****s.....she already looks drawn.

Looks really good. Not perfect, but it is still instantly recognizable, and some of the changes may actually make it look better in a live-action film.

That's BEAUTEEEEFUL! It's ranks right up there with the 60's Batmobile and Burton's Batmobile for me.

I'm not sure what to think. At first I was excited about a Speed Racer movie. Now I'm not not so sure. I didn't realize they were going to do some hyper-cartoony version.

I get more of an F-Zero vibe from this than Speed Racer....What is with the Mach 5 with a "6" on it? I don't like Racer X in all black either....

I have no connection to this property at all. I tried to watch the cartoon as a kid, but just found it annoying. I'll see the film, but from that trailer it looks like it could be just as annoying as the cartoon.

What is with the Mach 5 with a "6" on it?

I'm trying to figure that one out too. It isn't the same car as the one pictured in this thread, so maybe they destroy the Mach 5 in the movie, and create a "Mach 6"?

That will piss me off beyond belief. Destroy a Mach 4, Hell destroy Machs 1-4 but Speed Racer belongs in the Mach 5. If they change that at all my faith in this film will be forgone.
