I thought SSC said that the bigger the scale the more detail is needed?

If so, then using mixed-media is the wrong direction. It covers up detail, not enhances it. Full sculpt should've been the direction they took for this piece.

Damn, I completely forgot about Sideshows 1/2 scale Batman. Yeah that wasn't great either.

I guess maybe that movie pieces do better than comic inspired pieces when using fabrics in 1/2 scale form.
it's all about the material that's used, and of course proper tailoring. SS likes to skimp out on everything, so the result is what you see with Pete and Batman, dudes in sweats.

just look at the massive contrast in quality between SS 1/2 pieces and P1 1/2 pieces. SS thinks they can half *** something but get away charging a premium price for.

True.

Just a bit grating that everyone is blaming the use of fabrics rather than Sideshows ineffectual use of them instead.

If they had custom created/printed their own fabrics they may have been able to create more depth, with a much tighter fit that fits like an extremely tight glove (use glue if they had to) and honestly darker shades would've looked better imo, though I guess all that would've been closer to the film versions which would've also been knocked by comic purists :dunno

The older LSF, Wolv and Doom was still interesting. The laters one, not so much

Wow that neck gap is hideous

I agree.

But I'm truly wondering how else they could've done it?

Imo the seam would still have to be located there, but they should've still aligned the webbing better between the mask and the neck portion, for a more seamless transition. It being a prototype I would've thought they would be able to accomplish that given that they would have all the time in the world to assemble and dress it.

All so called high end 1/2 scale statues of adult human sized characters are $2,000. What were you expecting it to be before the reveal?

I wasn't expecting anything, first I've seen of it.

I was merely commenting that asking over $2,000 for that is a joke. Ok with you or shall I ask permission next time?...

I was just genuinely curious is all.

But do we know the actual price for this yet, as Sideshows 1/2 scale pieces have been running around $2,500 haven't they? :thud:

I guarantee it will be 2300+ shipping

I was going to get this. Not now.
Should of been fully sculpted. P1 have shown what amazing work can be done with sculpted textures.

There's still time for them to fix this piece but overall this is an atrocity.

They should have went further down the neck with the seam line

Are you referring to Prime 1's 1/2, 1/3 or 1/4 scales? As a few of their 1/2 scales use a hell of a lot of fabric; those being their BVS Bats and Supes.
