I mean the irony is if that deal hasn’t happened, Sony Pictures may have been sold or went under, giving Marvel back the full rights to Spider-Man. But there was no way of knowing that at the time. Still thrilled it happened in the end but it would be nice if Marvel didn’t have to have Tom Holland beg Bob Iger to fix things every few years when the contracts are up.

Yup they are incompetent hacks. People say Sony made the best Spider-Man movies. Nope that was all raimi. Into the spiderverse was animation and Sony animation studios. Different . You pretty much had a soulless corporate cash grab of a franchise in the asm and they made it to hold onto the rights. The story was so crap they almost destroyed the character.
Also these idiots to this day still listen to avi arad. So yea it was good that they made the deal or there audio would have died . They are lucky they even have a brand as big as Spider-Man

I hope they can incorporate the respective music cues of each Spiderman.

Imagine if Holland's Spiderman finds himself in trouble - the movie goes silent - then another web comes in and you hear this

or alternatively this

Or neither Tobey or Garfield will be in the film at all and this hype was for nothing......

ASM2 theme wipes the floor with SM's IMHO. Elfman just seems to do weaker variations of the Batman89/BR score.
I don't agree with your statement. I love Elfman's spider-man theme, just imagine something significant on screen pairing with the musical cue from 2.49 onwards you will have spontaneous spider-manly tears erupting all over the faces over us bitter older spider-men. This is the last good superhero theme that Elfman wrote in my opinion.

The ASM2 theme, admittedly never received anywhere near to the same play time for me because it was connected to such a poor movie. I do recall seeing the ASM movies and liking a theme or part of the score but I don't remember it being this piece (I also like Andrew Garfield a lot in the role). Unfortunately I don't really feel any emotion behind this theme though, it just doesn't stay with me like the Elfman spiderman or the Kamen's x-men ones. Hardly any of the MCU ones stick with me either for that matter. Most modern themes seem to lack something.

Just to add to my earlier post the reason I liked the first movie amazing spider-man score was of course because it was composed by James Horner. Ok that's the theme I do like for Garfield's spider-man. Dave_W if that's the one you like then I agree it's really good and we have an accord haha. The Zimmer one doesn't have the hint of sadness / loneliness that Spider-man needs in his score.

Nostalgia? Although saying that the SM theme is more nostalgic to me and I prefer Garfield's, but I can't say I have a connection to any of them.
I'm not sure it is just nostalgia because I still find pieces of music that I do like in score's these days. The main avengers theme has always stuck with me and I can listen to Infinity War and End Game by Alan Silvestri. I like a lot of Zimmer's work, all his Dark Knight stuff and more recently on Bond and Blade Runner 2049 but not this spider-man one. I also quite like Michael Giacchino's score for Rogue One but again find his spider-man one a bit lacking. Most of the MCU work (other than the first thor movie) has been a bit bland.

I love the late James Horner but I have to say I lean towards Zimmer's theme of the ASM movies. Offhand I can't remember Horner's music at all.

I quite like the PS4 Spider-Man game score too. That really felt like Spider-man, but maybe 'being' Spider-man was a part of that.
