Sorry to see this Ich. I wouldn't blame it on ssc though. It's out of their hands after its shipped. I do not agree that you need to destroy the statue before they will ship the replacement. There's just too many risk involved.

Yep, good point. I responded on the other board but maybe I should clarify.

2 of my last 3 PF's have had breaks. It seems like a disturbing trend.

My Vision replacement had a big chip of missing paint - no where near the edge of the styrofoam. I would tend to blame the SSC inspection on that one.

The broken foot on my Spider-Woman PF could indeed be shipping damage (although they did use the "new" 8 corner styrofoam things in the brown shipper).

I still blame SS QC b/c I know from my experience with my chipped Vision replacement that it will take a while for SS to get back to me. By then, I'm afraid that I'll get the same story I got last time... sorry, there are no more replacements. Would you like a refund?

I think that if you're going to go through the trouble to repaint a badly done statue (spider-woman), and customers are willing to wait 9 months, and you know some statues are damaged in transit, maybe you should make some extra replacements?

They also shipped Spider-Woman to the wrong address -- I suspect there are some growing pains in the returns department right now. Hope they can make things right.

Sounds like a terrible experience. If SS is having issues the customer shouldn't be aware. They used to be really good with returns but lately it seems to be a trend where the returns process isn't as reliable as it used to be. sorry to hear all that.

Update - SS contacted me this morning after receiving my email (from Saturday) They are looking for a replacement for the replacement and will try to send it out right away.

I don't know if how this will all end, but it looks like I was wrong to assume they would take a long time to get back to me. My service representative obviously took into account the situation into account. I'm grateful for the effort! Thank you Sideshow!

Hey ichiro, how is the paint app on the new replacements? Any smudges or paint bubbles on the hair or base issues?

Replacement arrived (this is replacement #2 after the foot was broken on my first replacement).

I want to laugh... but I can't.

Oh, and I looked at the base... pretty rough paint job.

Before someone says that this is a shipping problem instead of a customer service or quality assurance problem ... those delicate fingers were packed right against the foam padding... that's just not very smart.

That's 3 busted replacements in a row. When you pack THAT poorly... I'm gonna blame the customer service. You can't claim you have great quality control if you can't get the statue into the consumers hands in one piece nearly every time.

Oh well... at least my new Vision Ex (from a SSF board member) is okay.

Sorry to hear about your luck with this Ichiro, Personally I think its bad package handling whoever is delivering your statues. I had my delivered This tuesday and she came out fine base is passible but could have been better. The packing was well done on mine. They added black foam sponge on her right leg, one of her arms and both portraits.

I witnessed the fedex driver recklessly throw the third box through my front door (which was SW replacement) I usually know my 2 drivers and they both know this moron and even they said hes a turd waffle. I used a few colourfully words and filed a report with the depo that i do not want this arsehole delivering any of my packages unless its either so or so.

Thankfully sideshow has a good return/replacement policy and if this was after market piece and i'd teach this arsehole to read what the box says "FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE"

I just smashed mine and now sending pictures in so my replacement can be sent. Did you guys have to break yours first before replacements are sent out?

Anyone got smashes parts to sell? let me know.

i got my replacement as well, they pushed to much foam into the box this time, so pressing down can snap stuff. But lucky mine came in fine. i just noticed the red is brighter this time and there is no plastic piece in the body where the head peg fits into. So now there is no suction cup when trying to pull the damn head out, much easier now.

See page 77 for all my issues...in short, this statue had only 4 pieces yet each had an issue.

The replacement's paint job isn't remarkable but at least all 4 parts fit together this time and are not broken. The web lines might be only slightly better. The black lines still aren't that great. Particularly the black corner on her left hip.

My issue with this one is the base. I now see that others have bases with the scratches, dry oily look, whatever this is. Not sure how this passes any QC as it's very noticeable.

My main issue with the base is the way it domes on the bottom. It's hard and won't press down. It's taller than the feet on the base so it won't sit flat. I now have "The Unstable Spider-Woman" statue. Waiting on word from SS...

Sorry to hear Peedi, This could have been such a great PF. For the most part I regret returning mine for refund but every time I come in here im reminded why I did it.

I'm going to open mine tonight hope its flawless. SS has been on a roll lately with great QC so this one is going to be interesting to open up. I have faith that it will be flawless! Or will it? :D

If this is a first batch, you're a fool

This is the new replacement! :lecture suppose to be the new tip top shape one to replace my older mess up release.

You got your replacement?

Yes two days ago but no time to open it yet. I will try to get to it today or tomorrow. I'm kind of worried since this is one statue I really want in my collection. If it's no good and I can't get another then it's time to say bye, bye marvel! :gah: please be good, please be good, please be good.........

If I have to end up returning it I'll feel the same, too. It's disappointing to wait and anticipate something, get it, it's faulty, and you eventually end up not even owning it anymore...huge letdown.

It looked like some people were keeping their bases that have that dried up oil looking effect on them. Mine has that, too, and I have no idea what that is and why, but with the scratches on the surface and bubble on the bottom I couldn't hold on to this if I don't get another replacement. Hoping...
