Spiderman PF worth getting?

Help Support Collector Freaks Forum:
No one will....... If anyone is knowledgeable enough to know what Sideshow is, and to look for a SS Spiderman PF then they already know that the asking price is just RIDICULOUSLY high!

Man am I happy I bought mine when I did during the summer-fall months of 2008.
I don't know if it's because desperate times calls for desperate measures or just plain simple greed but these new prices are astronomical therefore i'm thankful my Spidey Ex was "only" $439 shipped or Punisher $217 shipped, Green Hulk $500 shipped and Cap Reg $510 shipped. With these new prices any chance of me ever owning Doom just went out the window...boooooo.
Wolv Comi just went for $999! I paid $139 in 2006! Seriously‚ what is $139 today!?!
I was also lucky that Live Search was giving back 30% in Fall 08 unlike now which is 10%, That helped me with the Hulk and Thing. The Hulk alone was $180 cashback from Live Search.
Then again, I can put a pencil up on ebay for $800, doesn't mean I'm going to get it.
Speaking of pencils, look at those $800 legs

J, I would say those days are long gone on a few items for deals like that. You were really lucky to get the Punisher PF that cheap and amazing deal on the Spidey PF
that is a great price for the Ex.Either we have buds on the forums that what to get out of a certain line and we can help them with a quick sale but on this flipper market it seems like no one is giving stuff away, especially Doom, most would rather keep him than strike a deal...
So I guess the lesson comes if u really like it and the statue is popular then it might have the chances of raising in value best to be on ur toes and grab it for retail from SS because the secondary market is full of bullies.

Too bad for me as I only got into statue collecting mid last year. Really like the PF lineup. Started with Cap Ex, then Thor Ex. Now backtracking to the old PFs like Spidey which I have a problem finding.
Except for the recent Iron Spidey which I got directly from SS, all the rest I had to get from the secondary market at quite a high price.
Especially the fact that locally in my country, the statue collecting market is very small. & sad to say, the asian recasters are making it even harder for us since now international sellers are afraid to deal with asian collectors. <sigh>

Personaly, I will never buy a Sideshow statue from an Chinese, HK, or any other Asian seller !
(except "Japan", who are know to be a very serious people)
That's a pity because I am sure lot of asian seller are serious, but few recaster have destroyed their reputation...

This is a great statue but the blue spandex kills it for me... im not a huge fan of PF for cetain characters... While some staute look amazing in PF others do not

I have gone back and forth on this probably 5k times, lol, one minutes I really want it, and the next minute I can't get past the spandex. I was really close to buying Jbinny's, but I just didn't want to commit. It is a great piece and a wonderful sculpt.

It's funny, I thought the same thing about the spandex...but it really isn't an issue at all in person. This really is a piece that does not get justice through pictures, I'm in love with it. One of my favorites in my collection hands-down.
