I didn't have a chance in hell to pick this up. Apparently, after I called last week asking about it, my LCS didn't know much about it but afterwards got more questions about it and decided to reserve preorder copies. So even though I was the first to ask about it, I missed on any preorder opportunities.

While I was driving to my LCS today, I heard about it on the radio. Radio also said first print issues going for $40+ on Ebay. Lets see....

Yup, $40-$100+

"Hey, remember me? I am spider-man. Yes, my third movie was bad, but look at me now! I am hanging with Obama! Please pay attention to me"

Was George W Bush ever featured in a comic? Mike?

Dad was, tho. :D

I apologize. I didn't mean to start a political discussion. Just intended to point out that Obama isn't Black. I like Middle Eastern people a lot. I would like it if they would stop calling Barack Obama black, is all. Barack Hussien Obama is a pretty Middle Eastern sounding name to me, by the way. I suspected that he was Middle Eastern from the very start.

Dude have you seen pictures of Obama's DAD, the guy is black. My eyes are a better source than your so called news source.

So apprently the comic is everywhere but the special cover with Obama is rare now? Cause no store I know has it...and there was a news story I saw on it how it is hard to find.

if anyone was able to get the Obama cover, NOW is the time to sell it.

This hype won't last for this issue. I don't think the variant cover was that rare, not like the 1/25 ones. thought more like 50/50 split of alternate/variant cover. both covers have the short Obama story inside I'm guessing.

Ya if you're looking to buy.. Just wait a few months.. Don't believe the hype..

Agreed. I'd get on the topic of Obama, but I know Dave wants no political stuff in this forum.

And neither do some of us... this isnt a political forum guys, lets talk about the stuff thats brings us all here. I really hope threads like this dont keep coming up as there's the risk of someone going off on one..

Place and time for everything :)

I know of four versions of this comic.

1st print reg. Peter Parker with some girls for a night on the town.
1st print Var Obama with Spiderman taking his picture with a blue background.
2nd print var Flipped image of the 1st var but with a yellow background
3rd print the same image of the first variant but with a flag in the background.

I know I am glad to have gotten one of the first print variant. It was 24.99 on one website I ordered and got one of the last before they ran out. Then after it got back in stock on Wed, the price then shot up to 99.99 and 249.00 for a preorder 9.8 cgc copy.

As for Bush in comics, he has been in several Marvel ones. I just reread the Avengers "Red Zone" series and hes talking to Captain America in it, he has also shown up in Civil War I think. Plus Bush was in the Ultimate storyline where the other countries took over the US. Bush was captured in Air Force One, he is even calling for his wife as the plane goes down.

I also recall that in the DC comics "Young Justice" preview "World with out grownups" Then President Clinton was talking to Superman and the JLA via video link.

And dont think this is a spoiler since its been listed in many previews publications and online. But Norman Osborn is not happy with just the power he has now... he is said to "go after the new president" So Obama might want to hire Spidey as his new Secret Service guy.

:lol....I'm gonna have to start searching for my name to answer these comic questions in a greater more timely fashion.

Yeah, twice that I know of off hand. Once in Ultimates when Captain America was unfrozen, it was Dubya that spoke with him. The most notable though is in Ultimate X-Men when Magneto attacked America, he was stripped naked by him and forced to lick his boots clean while on live TV. They also showed Magneto try to crush him with a car with the license plate that said "Dubya" in the same issue.

Agreed. I get enough political discussions with my friends & co-workers.
