NO! Michael Bay, Uwe Boll, and Paul WhatShisface Anderson will stay on Earth to direct movies from now till the end of time. They will also remake every movie that wasn't directed by them, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park. Spielburg and Lucas can be blasted off to Alpha Centauri. :lecture :lecture :lecture :lecture

Alright fine. So long as they continue to update the occassional classic novel and put Mila Jahopelessvitch in the lead role whether there's a heroine in the book or not.

Raiders gets negated though since they both made that film.

Somewhere n the back of my mind I' hoping Spielberg does one of the Disney SW flicks. Would be cool in a way. He was Lucas's first choice for Jedi iirc.

:exactly:

His track record invites success to the new SW film.

Tarrantino on the other hand guarentees success as he hasn't made a bad film yet *cough*War of the cruise*cough*

Depends. He wouldn't be my first choice to work with Lucas after seeing KOTCS. :(

I know I'm not alone when I say I don't want Tarantino anywhere near Star Wars. :monkey1

Is it me or does he make threads and never comes back to them :lol

yeah Uwe Boll should be up on that poll. :lol but are we even comparing them by directing? If I'm not mistaken George Lucas didn't even direct all of the Star Wars films. He did the prequel series and I believe only did the 1st movie of the originals. Therefor he didn't even direct the two best films out of the 6 and well Spielberg has to many movies to name that are good. Hands down Spielberg. Unless I am wrong about him not directing all of the Star wars films, but even then Spielberg>Lucas

Nvm just saw some say he didn't direct Empire so that answers my question :lol

Lucas wrote A LOT of films though.

Lucas wrote A LOT of films though.

Thats why it is kind of hard to compare the two. Spielberg does very little writing on his movies, but has directed some incredible classics. Lucas directed 1 good movie out of the Star Wars Films thats why I just don't see how anyone could pick Lucas over Spielberg if you are judging by their over all career, but hey thats just my opinion. Also that might look like alot of films, but to be honest alot of it isn't even full length films or even films that are even considered amazing like alot of Spielbergs.

I didn't knoe Lucas wrote Willow, learn sumtin' new everyday :lol

Depends. He wouldn't be my first choice to work with Lucas after seeing KOTCS. :(

But thats where the aliens fit in! :lol

I still think he could've made that SW tv show work had he 1) shot it with glorified hd camcorders, 2) hired up-and-coming independant film directors, and 3) laid off the bluescreen crap and based each season around a centralized location.

I've got a question.

If Lucas and Spielberg had a threesome with someone and filmed it, who would direct????

:monkey1 :monkey1

And more importantly would there be a special edition recut a decade later? :lol

I vote Michael Bay. Would probably be the best sex scene ever considering all the explosions that would be happening. :lol

Where's the poll to take away your thread-starting privileges? :dunno

Star Wars is better than anything Spielberg ever made. Jaws and Raiders are close competition, but that goes straight out the window with Empire Strikes Back. I guess an argument could be made for Schindler's List, and I'm sure people would argue E.T., but I'm sorry. ESB is still better. The most that could be said against it is that Lucas did not direct.

I think Empire/Star Wars and Jaws/Raiders are pretty neck and neck personally. Love all of them. But Spielberg has done so much more great stuff. Ultimately, I rank Spielberg up there with (and maybe even surpassing) all time greats like Hitchcock, John Huston, Sergio Leone, and Ingmar Bergman. Lucas ain't there.

I agree that he's an infinitely better filmmaker, but not that Star Wars and Empire are interchangable (per quality) with Jaws and Raiders. And, I think it's ironic that with all his ability, he could never outdo Lucas at his best (albeit a grossly limited best).

Of course. . .Lucas didn't direct Empire, so maybe that had something to do with that, also :lol

I do think they are very close in quality to one another, but each of those films is so different that comparison is hard. I would probably rank Jaws as the film that feels like it is the most well crafted of the bunch, but not by much.

I vote for Michael Bay and Uwe Boll.

Somehow, I agree 100% with all of this :exactly:
