Split movies and TV?

We're getting a lot of discussion in this forum and wanted to get a feel for if people would prefer if movies and TV had seperate forums?

I wonder if it wouldn't be a somewhat blurry distiction between the two. For instance the discussion about "Dark Shadows" with Johnny Depp naturally invited a lot of discussion about the old 60's show.

Almost any thread about a re-hash movie based on an old TV show is going to focus on initially on the TV show until shots appear from the movie.

This. It gets too difficult with people cross referencing things in various forums if there was a forum for Movies, one for TV and one for Printed Mediums that would be regardless of genre, then you could find all the movie talk in one spot and let's say all the comic talk in one spot as well. I think it'd enrich the conversations.

Yeah, time to separate things a bit more. Allow folks who are fans of TV shows to find and keep them at the top of a section

Yes, we've toyed with having a literary section too. As for movies that are TV rehash - the conversation would be initiated because of the film reboot- so it's an easy call where the convo belongs.

Not sure there are enough literary discussions around here for it to warrant its own section, though. Most of them are probably gonna get subsumed under Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Marvel or DC. Assuming people don't get too wound up about the forum section descriptions technically not allowing for them, then it seems like they could remain in the respective "Collectibles" sections without creating too much confusion and havoc trying to track down the thread about the latest Star Wars EU novel or what have you. And whatever remains could get put into the "Other Topics" section like it probably is at the moment.

True, but I do think it it had a section people would get to discover book threads and they wouldn't get pushed to the 2nd page quite as quick. Although we're usually talking about the books in the movie threads and I'm sure not many of us are reading books that won't one day be movies...

I think this needs to happen. There are just too many movies coming that seem to knock all of the TV threads too far back.
