Is this community a bunch of spoiled rotten little bastards?

So much complaining lately, about such little details. I think certain figures being so perfect like Bank Robber Joker, or Dallas and Kane, have raised our expectations on everything produced by any 1/6 company. So have these few products ruined your ability to impartially judge certain lesser products, maybe just because they aren't wearing a crazy suit of armor?

Personally I think just about everything that's been coming out is incredible, it's a great time to be a collector, but with all these products it also seems complaints are at an all time high.

Again I'm not talking about serious issues like rubber deterioration, but what are IMO, minor little things like the crispy issue on Two-Face.

I voted yes, because as I said, I think some of the latest high end figures have been so incredible, it's hard for other companies to keep up. Not to mention certain products just aren't gonna warrant as high a demand as say a Joker or Indiana Jones, and so less work probably goes into them.

some just ^^^^^ about every figure and never have anything good to say. otherwise some of the nit picking actually leads to some good discussions. I know I've learned alot from some of them..:D

I do have to agree, I'll admit i've made mention of some tiny flaws (not to the extent of 2 face's crispy skin) but generally it would never be enough to stop me buying a product.

For all the complaints made about V1 Jokers likeness it's still an incredible figure.

A little constructive criticism can be good as it can help to improve a product.

But I'd definetly agree we're spoiled for choice now. When the bar is raised we expect everything to be that good. There's been big leaps in quality of the past few years from Hasbro to McFarlane and Neca from Medicom to Enterbay and Hot Toys and the more expensive premium format. Is a great time to be a collector and an exciting time to see where this hobby can go now.

When you pay a high price for an item and it's not what you expected, then I don't think it's being spoiled when you complain about it. Though IMO, you usually get what you see, there are times when think you're getting what the picture shows and it's waaaaay off. I see that more with PFs though rather than 1/6.

Yes we are spoiled and Yes we are tired of getting production pieces that differ greatly from prototypes.

There is a fine balance between discussion of what you'd want improved on a high-end figure and just ^^^^^ing and moaning about every little thing.

As has been pointed out many times here, people are much more likely to complain about something rather than compliment something - that's just human nature.

Those that are happy that we're getting representations of our favorite characters can be put off by those that feel that everything has to be 100% perfect in order to be worthwhile.

It's them damned Batman fans! Always complaining about this and that...

J/K, I think that some details are too trivial, but when a piece has a major flaw, sharpening pitchforks and lighting torches seems to be the best way to go...

And Sideshow listens, and they do stuff about it...which is always nice...

You're never going to find anything that's a 100% perfect. Anyone expecting that is foolish.

I understand what you mean though. I can see some legitimate gripes, but at times it's just plain nit-picking.

Some people have an impossible high standard. However, it almost feels like a bait and switch sometimes. You see the proto and it looks one way and in hand, it looks fully different

Anyway, I agree that some nitpicking is good, when it's truely called for since I'm sure some folks from SS actualy stop by once in a while. Not to mention how it can affect the opinions of others here and if they will buy something.

I just think we are starting to hold all sorts of lines even smaller scale, to the higher end Hot Toys sort of standard, and that could be good or bad in the long run. Companies will either have to try harder to keep up, but other 1/6 lines from other compaines that can't compete will suffer as well.

Yeah, it depends on the degree. For me I could care less if the 12" Vader has the same "widows peak" or the lights on the chest plate are different or minor stuff like that, but if they make the helmet white then I have a problem. Just about every costume they used for Vader was different in some way so nothing is going to be 100% correct.

I voted yes, yes we are spoiled! These are good times and I am greatly appreciative of all the amazing stuff i've had the privledge to collect! Sure out of the 30+ figure I own only maybe 4 or 5 are spot on but who cares?

These things are just to fun to fuss about. However sometimes I believe it does help, Joker V1 being one good example. We were rewarded with a replacment head in the BR version.

The only ones that bug me are the ones that complain about EVERYTHING! Nothing can please these depression cases imo.

Hells yes we are!!

People stating that the HT TF looks cheap?!? Fair enough if their are flaws or not to your personal tatse, but CHEAP?!?

Yes, I have notice too much nitpicking and way too much whining and griping lately. It's at the level of complaining rather than criticizing. Instead of celebrating the collecting and the hobby that we are all involved in, it is becoming negative commentary on how a piece was not done well or that a feature is horrible. I like to think of the caliber of collectible coming out these days, as the sculptors, artists and other production crew involved in the development of our collectibles, way of upping the quality for us the collectors to enjoy and appreciate the work done better. They are producing better products for us with so much authenticity and near perfect accuracy that it is very admirable on their parts to put forth the effort. And yes, paying a higher price for this quality is what comes with product we get. That's why we are here on the board and why we purchase these items. Isn't it? I'd like to see more positivity and healthy discussion myself.

I think when you are spending as much as we are for this stuff, you have a right to be upset and complain if you get something that looks/feels cheap, scratched, damaged, etc.

it's the evolution of a hobbie.
when we were all kids playing with either gijoe, heman ,thundercats or barbie.we dreamed of one day having companies making stuff of movie characters.now were getting it.
