Half the time I take an existing well known poem and change the words to fit what I'm writing about, keeping the syllables and patterns intact; the other half of the time, I make it up, but again, matching syllables and patterns.

I've given up on that. I don't really expect to win. But I had fun writing it, so figured I may as well share with others. I'm sure everyone had something clever to say, so the competition is likely fierce. If I win, I will be honored. And if I don't, well, then congrats to whoever bests me!

I had fun entering and laughed while writing it. If I dont win so be it. I had fun entering. Only one contest I really wanted to win. I really do enjoy the contests that require us to get our juices flowing lol
