One more guess: Is it pair production and the ensuing annihilation reaction in a high energy radiation treatment machine above 10 MeV?

Well, is it? ;)

It is from the Big bang Theory, It is a Feynman diagram. Here is one definition I found:

"Feynman diagrams were invented by Nobel prize winner, Richard Feynman. The diagrams are used to create a simple visual to explain the behavior of subatomic particles. They are helpful in imagining what is actually going on, instead of just looking at the mathematical equations governing the particle’s behavior. In the context of The Big Bang Theory, some critics claim that the answer given as the correct answer (-8πα), is not correct. I do not have the ability to fully judge the physics myself, so my personal opinion is that it is correct (at least in some circumstance). The TV show has a physicist consultant from a university writing these problems, and checking their facts. So, since I was not able to see any credentials listed by the critics of the accuracy of this equation, I will assume The Big Bang Theory’s interpretation was correct."

By the way, nice clue with the capitalized 'Theory' :)

Well, in all fairness, I couldn't see the tiny picture on my iPhone anyway!

At least I knew there were particles involved! Sheesh!

I was hoping somebody would see the capitalized Big Bang and Theory but I figured it would take a little longer... oh well. Guess I need to make the next give away harder. :)

Yes Veil you did win and I can send them to fury if he wants them. Just PM me your address Fury and I will send them out after I give everything away so I only need to make one trip to the PO.

You probably should have left out the direct Big Bang Theory clues. Somebody would have recognized it. I knew I had seen the formula somewhere, but couldn't put my finger on it... until I re-read and 'got' your clues. You are pretty awesome for doing this any way you look at it Darth Madden!

That was a great contest Madden! :rock Congrats to Veil and fury. It went totally over my head, and I DO watch Big Bang Theory!! :lol
I just don't think well late at night. :(
:lol

Punk: "Hey Madcow, what'd you have for dinner last night?"
Madcow: "Balls"
Punk: "....."
Madcow: "It's always balls..."

I figured if I left the hint out nobody would ever get it since they really didn't show the equation on the show for more than a couple seconds. Oh well.

Hey, Darth, If I won the books, Could I bequeath them to furystorm?
He really does get an A+ for effort :)

What a great thing to wake up to. I love Star Wars books! Thanks so much for passing this most awesome prize to me Veil1. I really was just playing around with my silly "guesses" last night. This is the true spirit of Spooktacular in action. I'm going to have to step up my game.

:yess: Thanks so much DM! You're really picking up Sideshow's slack this year. I'll put these in my SW library and cherish my Spook win!

Wrong. The answer is Balls, its always Balls.

In school, we always say, when in doubt, the answer is "scatter." And most of the time, it's correct. Even when we're wrong, at least we all get a laugh.

Wonder when the official T-shirts will drop.

Needs to be soon if SSC really wants anyone to be able to wear during the actual event...

:impatient:
