Square Enix Play Arts Kai Gets New Licenses

You guys sure love to pretend these figures are bite sized Seriously look at the stuff Bandai throws out or any other Japanese company. Thirty to forty dollars for something around five to six inches tall. PAK has been throwing around characters nearly a foot tall. That's a lot more to articulate, a lot more to sculpt, and a lot more to paint. At the very least of course they would be twice the price. It's still a third of what you would pay for with Hot Toys and Hot Toys reuses the body and other parts of figures. I'll never understand why people peck and choose what they want to complain about in a hobby defined by ripping its fanbase off. Just deal with it. Easiest solution is to not promote PAK via constant bumping of this thread, constantly pretending to be surprised by things you already know.

I'll take quality over size any day. And as the figures get bigger, the less they look good displaying with past characters/licenses(I mean Batman towering over Master Chief for example). They should have stayed with one scale and worked on quality instead of making them bigger and having the same QC issues while raising prices.

Entertainment Earth has Arkham Catwoman on sale today for $35.99.
She will be my first Play Arts figure.

Now I feel a need to get a Play Arts Batman to go with her but I am concerned about scale.

I think I like the look of the Arkham Asylum Batman better than the Arkham City one.

Will both the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City Batman work well with her?

Asylum Batman is apparently shorter than the City one so he'll be around her size I think, instead of being noticeably taller than her.

I really like their Wonder Woman but that seems to be very much out of scale with this line.

I'm pretty sure that's a custom Nightwing, using Green Lantern as a base. Looks good though.

Same here. I need to get some of the other Batman PAKs so bad as I only have Dark Knight Rises Batman, and especially since Asylum Bats is about to join the other rare PAKs. Nightwing would be full convincing for me though.

Question for play arts kai collectors. My good sir's/ma'am. If given a chance to buy a pak batman. Either movie or comic style or game version. Which is a definitive batman to purchase? Likewise with superman?? Thank You for your advance help and advices

My personal favourite is the Arkham Asylum Batman, although he is slightly shorter than the Arkham City figures. The AC Batman is good too, but I dont like the cape. Armoured Batman is a really nice figure, but he's slightly on the short side too.

AA Batman is better than AC Batman but due to the increased scale in all of the other Batman figures, he looks really small where even Robin is a lot bigger than him.

The Dark Knight Trilogy Batman is real awesome. He is a bit lacking in accessories but he has no QC problems on my end, and I've heard he has little from other people. His scale and proportions are nice too. For his price, he is worthwhile. The HT TDK Batmen are probably better but he's good on his own merits.

Superman has one coming in the PAK Variant line. The Man of Steel one is ok at best. He has only two alt hands, some QC issues and way too pricey but he's not bad. If you can find him for cheap (I bought the black one for $80 and kinda regret it) go for him. The Variant one looks great, with an alt heat vision head, and an effect part with its own stand. I'm probably gonna prefer the Variant over the Man of Steel Black one.

that's my main problem with these PAK figures. Displaying them is hard due to all of them having different scales.

Same here. Save for MGS2 Solid Snake, that'll be pretty much every core MGS1 & MGS2 character. Which is pretty amazing. I wonder how many more figures will end up being delayed. If things keep slipping schedule it's going to start getting hairy since I have so many preorders. lol.
