Hi Vonhahn, I used kitchen micowave plastic wrapping. It helps to prevent stain from those boots.

You need to wrap the plastic at the top of the base, and using hair dryer to shrink the plastic.

As for the sticky boots (Boushh leia) & head (SS Maul), You may use the clear matt spray paint. I did that on mine.
