SS 1:6 Scale Commander Bly!

hey guys.. this is my first post ever here.

this figure is going to be my first sideshow figure. i own a couple hot toys figures.. but this is my first from sideshow. He'll be arriving here on wednesday, i cannot wait.

while rex is my favorite clone, i think bly is the best looking. yellow isn't a favorite color of mine.. but for some reason i love it on bly. i really hope sideshow puts out a new rex to coincide with his phase1/2 amalgamated look in season 3. the most recent krell/501st episode arc was probably my favorite in the series.

anyways. i love all of the comments on this figure they really cemented my decision in picking bly first. and there is some truly wonderful photography going on in this thread (and on these boards in general) .. i hope to share my own soon.

which clone should i try to acquire next?

Welcome, you won't be dissapointed, as for which clone any really, though the later ones have tighter bodies and the cloth undersuit which is better. I tried to stay with the commanders myself love both gree or cody which come with plenty of hands, couple of feet options and pistols

yeah, i think cody is going to have to be next. hopefully at some point i'll be able to procure waxer and boil.

but man, i REALLY want a phase "2" captain rex. hopefully if they do one they'll give him more battle wear than the previous release had, which was practically zip.

First time I'm posting here... Just got into 1/6 scale figures late last year...started with the Joe line...been hooked ever since. I've been holding off on Star Wars figs...but rcently got the Sandtrooper Deluxe off ebay for $99.00 and free shipping! Been hooked since then. Awesome figure...really makes me want to stop collecting the 1/18 scale figs...
In any case...just got Bly yesterday...awesome figure...amazing detail...great paint apps...only 1 HUGE problem....like someone posted earlier in this thread...

I'm having a hard time getting both helmets on the figure. Looks like the shoulder piece gets in the way and the inside helmet piece almost seems like it's shorter than it should be...not sure if that makes sense...

Anyone have any suggestions?

Just got my Bly today. What a great addition to my collection ! I just love to put him together with Alayia Secura. Will Sideshow make some of his fellow clone troopers ? I'd be great and easy for SSC.

i finally opened my bly yesterday... my god he's incredible.

i love the look of the phase 2 helmet more than the phase 1.. but i think bly looks better with the phase 1.. so i'm way happy about that. .. and little did i know, but it came with the exclusive stand. which is pretty cool.

one of the things i love about bly is his outfit, i love the kama, the holsters, the hand guns, the pauldron,.. i love all of that stuff.

and one of the things i love most is the battle damage/wear, i'm a big stickler for crisp paint apps, and now if there's any minor paint problems, i can just chalk it up to it being battle damage. that being said, the paint is perfect, there's even a spot where it looked like it was dented, but it's just the great paint job at work.

i'm a hardcore transformers collector.. but i'm definitely going to have to add more sideshow clones to my collection. i just preordered commander cody. i can't wait.

my one and only flaw would have to be the pauldron getting in the way of the helmet.. but .. i can look past that because i love the look of the pauldron so much. i have the hot toys dark knight batman and the bank robber joker.. but i'd have to say that i like bly better.. it could be just the fact that it's my first clone, or that it's new.. but i think my opinion will hold up.

plus, he looks great posed behind the little clone wars commander bly.

Anybody got this problem with large wet stains on lower edges of Bly's skirt? I didn't check when collecting this from the shop several weeks ago and only these few days I opened it and saw this. I left it in the open for 2 days now and it seems like some small area have dried out, thinking I hasten the process with me lighter, oops, I kinda burnt it and returning it to the shop after so long and with a burnt mark, I doubt I can get change it with the shop now. Anyone got similar problem on your Bly?

EDITED: I didn't read most of the post in this thread and was going thru now. I noticed I am not the only one as I saw some of your photos that this is not an isolated case. I got 2 Bly, the other one is without such problem.

If the stains were to simulate dirt, it does not look like it at all. My nephew's and my second Bly didn't have this and are dry. May be some kinda glue the factory in China used? I did noticed some small areas have dried on the inside of the skirt tho. I will check all figures when collecting from now on.

You can roughly see the stains on Josh's Bly. First 2 pics, you can see the stains on the inside and the 3rd pic, you can see the stains on the outside. I also saw it on some others who posted pictures of it. But the sun sort of make it hard to see it but its there on Josh's pics which are nice shots, btw!

So I bought TWO of Bly for Phase I and Phase II display...

A snap of my very first SS and SW figure, if only other 1/6 scale figures were priced like these and looked this good too!

Here, you can see the stains on both Aries and Pantone's shots. Which again, nice shots guys!

I felt better knowing this is not isolated but I also think this is not to simulate the dirt on the skirts because on mine, there are spots that has dried up on the inside of the skirt. I think its some kind of glue the Chinese factory used.

Couldn't care less about the stains (if they even are stains). They, as well as paint imperfections, just add to the weathering.

Wow this is weird, all the stains are on the Regular Versions. While as the Exclusive Versions have none. For instance, Rebelscum's photo (Which is a Exclusive Version had none.)

Ah thanks, Orange! So the skirts are called Kama!

I think its co-incidental because of the 2 I have, 1 is dry and same for my nephew's. All non ex tho. I don't think its intentional because not all have it. Thanks for posting the pics, O!

I am going to let it sit for a while and weather the Kama later. After all, I already burnt a small hole on it.

mine is an ex and i got the two small stains on the right hand side and bit at the butt.
any ideas how to fix. i never noticed it till i checked today.
