I'm sure one of you might remember, but a member at SF (and quite possibly a member here) who works at a Fed-Ex processing center in Cali. said that he had a box come through that was labeled to SSC that indicated it was an Elektra Comiquette - Black Variant. No one commented or followed-up on it, but nonetheless, it may be true. I'm surprised that it didn't stir up any commotion, so I don't know how valid the claim was.

Blacks hot. SS needs to make one with all the left overs of regular red.

Wow. Hope that's true.

why didnt ss releas a black costume versiom instead of the white??

I think he meant to ask SSC why they never made it....he was trying to point ece in the right direction :lol

yeah, that would be smarter :monkey5

I think that was what the original poster was gonna do though.

I have every intention of converting an EX to black!

I am going to keep my original one as red, and redo another that I bought last night as black.

I'm really excited about doing this.

I really have no intention of selling it, so flipper value means little to me. It really is one of the most beautiful statues that I've ever had the pleasure of owning and seeing.

I may even get another still and convert her to white as well - the completist in me - LOL!

Cheers, Carl

That's awesome Carl. Thought of getting another red instead and having a black, white, red since there are less whites? Can't wait to see the pics from you man.

Yeah, I am really excited about getting another one.

I'm already looking at doing some extra work with epoxie sculpt on the back codpiece, so that the seam is really tight against the statue.

I'm going to keep the pieces removable, as I like that feature.

I'm just wondering if I should do any highlighting, or just let natural lighting take care of that for me when she's on display.

I may also redo the base, because I think SS went a little heavy on the drybrushing and it almost looks too thick. Just my modeling side coming out!

The reference for this was the Greg Horn artwork - he is one of my most favorite female artists - his art is out of this world beautiful. I have the pleasure of owning one of his Elektra prints - the one where she's standing around with all the flags.

SS really hit the nail on the head with this statue. A Daredevil of the same size would be kind of neat to display, but he's not one of my most favorite character's. I love the comic babe's!

Cheers, Carl

Carl is crazy. lol Post pics if you do repaint it.

You got that right!

I'm crazy about Elektra, as she is one of my most favorite female character's.

My most favorite being Dark Phoenix - come on SS, make me/us a gorgeous Dark Phoenix already! LOL!

Most definitely will I share the pics when she gets done.

Still getting over spinal surgery and can't do much sitting at my bench, but she's getting top priority when I'm able to.

Cheers, Carl

Aye, a DD will go nicely with this piece. Some highlighting looks nice but can look cheesy when over the top too. Would love to see what you do with the base.

Greg horn is awesome! :D Love his work.

Hope you have a speedy recovery, remember to mobilise and not smoke if you normally do. That's slows down healing.

So, a lot of people keep questioning 'Why White?'

Spoiler - Elektra's origin

For those who have never read the Frank Miller Daredevil run, it's easy to see why you would choose 'Black'. But for those who have, White is the obvious choice, and the color has very sentimental meaning.

Elektra's story begins when she meets and falls in love with Matt Murdock, AKA Daredevil. Later, Elektra's father is killed and she disappears, later to reappear as the red-suited Hand assassin.

After leaving DD, Elektra's origin begins as she attempts to climb an unscalable mountain face, trying to reach a group of mythical and noble warriors whom her martial arts sensei had told her about. Even though she fails the climb (which was basically 'the test' needed to join their ranks), she is found by one of the warriors and taken in anyway. (These warriors wear WHITE ninja garb.) She is later kicked out as they determine she is damaged goods.

Elektra tries to prove her worth to them by infiltrating a group of ninja assassins called "The Hand" where she receives more training. She is corrupted during this time. (The Hand uniforms are always RED - Elektra's original costume color)

After Bullseye kills Elektra, The Hand recovers Elektra's body. They attempt to use an ancient ritual that involves a bunch of the members basically committing suicide and emptying their essence into the body to bring her back to life as an elite unstoppable assassin in service to The Hand.

Daredevil and one of the members of the original group, a badass ninja named Stone, interrupt the ceremony before Elektra is fully revived.

During the melee, DD picks up on a small hearbeat from Elektra.

Leaving Stone alone to battle The Hand, DD attempts to complete the reincarnation of Elektra, even though he doesn't have the full 'training' to resuscitate her. He fails. Stone is seriously injured during combat in the meantime.

At that moment, the Kingpin's men come in blasting, taking out the rest of The Hand, and pull Daredevil from the burning building. (Daredevil had done a favor for Kingpin earlier). DD realizes Stone and Elektra are still in the building and goes back in.

While DD is outside, Stone finds Elektra and is about to decapitate her so that she cannot be used by the Hand again. He realizes that DD's effort to revive Elektra somehow managed to cleanse her soul. Being injured himself, he decided to empty his essence into her.

DD comes back in to find both Stone and Elektra gone.

At the end of the book, a figure in a parka is seen scaling an unclimbable frozen cliff wall, one that they couldn't climb in the beginning. This time the figure makes it to the top. At that moment the parka is removed to reveal the stunning Elektra, now dressed in white.

That moment is one of the best moments in comics history for me, and that's why the White suit is a really important moment in the history of Elektra.
