Re: Rogue

I got my response, I think im gonna sign up for the waitlist. they offered me $40 because I also had issues with paint apps on the body. There is nothing i want more than a quality Rogue so im sure I will be going with the waitlist.

Re: Rogue

Honestly I think some of the Rogue pieces have way more problems than just "paint issues" the sculpt looks vastly different than what was advertised by SS..:dunno

I understand that this thread has been progressing at a very fast rate so you may have missed it, but this has been discussed thoroughly already. It has been confirmed by a few people (myself included) that those elongated pics of her face are due to camera distortion. I personally loaded up the hi-resolution images of the original official pictures, and I then held the head up to the screen and carefully rotated it in my hand to match the angle of the picture exactly. Doing so proves that the sculpt is the same. It truly is only a haphazard paint application that's holding it back.

Re: Rogue

I think that most have gotten their response back from SSC. Don't know when you put in your complaint, but don't forget SSC goes off the working day calendar and not the traditional 7 day.

I emailed SS on Tuesday (10/4). I received a confirmation email form them the next morning (10/5) saying that they received the JPEGs I sent and that they would get back to me in 5-7 days. Nothing yet...

If it is any consolation I sent my pictures/complaints in two days after you on 10/6 and and also have not heard back other than the customary response stating that they received the pictures. I'd give it a day or two.

Re: Rogue

Haveny seen a ex on ebay sell for less then 450 plus shipping even with its problems it will be an expensive adition to add to your collection!

Perhaps because people buying on ebay are not members of these boards and not aware of the issues with this piece? :dunno

Remember, according to Sideshow, we only make up 5% of their customer base. :lecture

What strikes me with these photos is all the people defending SSC's and criticizing those customers taking close up photos. The SSC's photo is closeup and they always do closeups and you should be able to for the quality SSC's touts. So looking at a fan closeup (even with flash photography) and then SSC's you can still see the face is not the same width.

OK, now that pisses me off even more that they only offered me $30 for my messed up heads and prints. I pretty much told them to stuff their refund/bribe to accept their crappy quality and still overpay for a sub par product. I told them to get me on the list for a replacement for both this and the Predator LSB that had paint chips and rubs.

I am about done with their statue lines.

Re: Rogue

I know something about optical distortion and it's possible, but there are clearly some sculpt differences as well that have nothing to do with angle..

Re: Rogue

Got My response from SS same as everyone else it seems.

Thank you for taking the time to contact Sideshow Collectibles about the issues to your Exclusive Rogue Premium Format Figure. We apologize for the issues that you have encountered. As collectors ourselves, we understand the disappointment you may be experiencing and want to work with you to make it right.

We understand that you wish to continue with a replacement for your statue. As of right now, we have not received our full allotment of replacements to satisfy your request. Our manufacturing facility is backlogged in getting shipments out to us, and products and replacements are moving more slowly than we anticipated. Your replacement may not become available until December, 2011. Our production team is working with our manufacturer to see if we can get these replacement pieces sooner, and if this is the case we will notify you via e-mail.

Due to the prolonged delay in being able to provide you with an exchange, we would like to proceed to place you on the waitlist for a replacement Rogue statue. Once this shipment arrives, we will contact you immediately with instructions to exchange your statue/parts.

Please let us know if this would be a satisfactory solution.

We thank you for your patience and hope to have this resolved for you as soon as possible. Please let us know if you have any further questions!

I sent this response back:

This would be acceptable.

However can you tell me what the replacement quality will be? In other words are the portraits being repainted differently? Or can I expect the same quality? While I do have issues with the whole statue the MAIN concern is the actual paint job on the face. So my question is: are these being newly painted representing the original prototype? Or will this replacement head(s) be the same artistic quality as the currently shipped ones? Do you have any info on what changes if any are being made to the painting on the face? For example is the same heavy eye shadow going to be on this new batch as well?

Thank you very much

Re: Rogue

I predict eye corrections for the replacements, you HEARD it here first.

Or better painted eyes, how bout that... :D Everything else is going to be the same.

and the photos are still people doing the fish head syndrome with a point and shoot, it's NOT about protecting SSC, it's about knowing what you are looking at whenever this happens with a camera. Same thing happened with HT Alice and they all ran around til their heads bled off, and then FINALLY someone here in the US took a accurate pic.

She's here in collectors hands without the oval shape, dwarf, illusioned sculpt.
