Prop SS Wolf Bio or DX Wolf Bio?

Hey Preds,

I have a bit of a dilemma on my hands! I already have Sideshow's Wolf Predator Mask, which by the way is AMAZING! BUT...I have been very interested in owning the DX Wolf Bio, which has mega detail along with interior detail, REAL lasers and a more attractive stand.
Do I sell my Sideshow version on ebay and buy this custom made version or do I stick with Sideshow's???
Your views and opinions would be appreciated...

My friend has the DX mask and it looks much better than the SS version. There are so much detail. You just can't compare the two. IMO just sell the SS mask and buy the DX.

I have both and to be honest, I'd save SS's if there was a fire and I could only grab one.

the dx is nice but I personally prefer the slightly larger SS one since it is at least one generation closer to the actual prop.

Get both if you can but don't sell the SS to get the DX.

Had no idea that there was a size difference in the 2. That changes everything!

I was going to chime in on page 1 that i would keep the SS purely because id choose size over the inside details. That and the SS is numbered, official and has the COA and packing as opposed to a nice looking recast. The DX looks awesome but the best advice here so far is if you really want to have a play around with the DX then get the DX and have both at the same time then you will know what you want to do.

But, i wouldn't even bother buying the DX if you already have the SS i do not see the point. DX if you dont have the SS i could understand. If you insist on owning both at the same time id advise you bought a half mask and some dreads and slap the DX wolf bio on it and made a full head.

That looks really good mate! I would love to do that with the DX mask! Have you guys got your collection pieces in a gallery somewhere to look at? Would be good to see how other people display their stuff!

The Bio is still bigger or the same size as my SS Mr. Black and Celtic.

With all of the Alien/Predator stuff coming out, would you really want to have two of the same thing hanging around? Yes, one is "closer to the prop", but is that what you want? Or do you just want the best one you can get?

I'd sell SS's and buy some other A/P merchandise..

Personally I don't see why you would want to add the recast version if you have the original. How often would you actually see the inside of it anyway?

because the dx is a much better collectible in every way (besides the size). i have the dx and i've compared it against the ss original but it just loses out to the dx, imo. which isn't to say the ss is poorly made. it's a great piece. but the dx is even better.

and ALL my guests want to see the inside of the mask when they see the dx. plus, the laser always puts a big grin on their faces. they start aiming it at objects and people around the house.

rogue predator, if money were no object, have both. but if it's just one, then to me the choice is clear: the dx.

seriously it's preference. on a side note I found the other bios to be under sized.


cast off the screen props I'm sure but too small for me.


you should see ruffkintoys's Celtic bio.


that is one awesome bio.

I can tell that they are all undersized (due to the whole being props thing..), but they're big enough for me..believable enough for me.

I have never seen the SS version in person, but I don't think the slightly larger size would change my mind.

And just looked at that Celtic Bio..surprisingly accurate sculpt.

Had both SS and DX versions but sold the DX. The bio was better (only because of the inner details, lasers and lenses) but I didn't like the base at all - it was too big and detracted from the overall look. The new base the other DX elder bios are on is much better.
Having sat them side by side the SS was the most appealing to look at, but not to fiddle with.

I'm the opposite with regards to the base, I like it because it looks like part of the decor of a Predator ship.

The base is part of the aesthetic for the overall piece. I think the DX is too much and prefer simplicity. Plus the other bio bases have the same simpler style so they match up.

Fair enough, you can't go wrong with either bio really.

I've got the DX. It is 10/10
I always wanted the SS but on Ebay I can't afford it for 1000$-s.
So I buyed the DX and love it! Masterpiece for a much lower price.
