Re: Batman figure

This looks fantastic to me. Definite but when goes up for order!!!

Re: Batman figure

No one else thinks the body looks really weird? Something about the way the chest, waist, belt... and shorts all interact. Neck is really long too.

Could be futzing I guess. If I see in-hand pictures of this that work I would consider getting it, but not based on these pics.

I actually have seen men with this waspy waist with very muscular peck muscles but its kinda all wrong for batman, I personally am disassembling him for parts to make my batman from a secret blend.

it may take a year but I will have my ultimate batman

Re: Batman figure

Is sideshow going to make an official statement as to what accessories outside Baterang and throwing bat-stars.

Also is this waspy waist body going to be the norm for the muscular builds if so you might want to add alittle so its more balanced. most male bods muscular (believe me I dated a few body builders ) are more gradual to a narrower waist some hips due to larger gluteus maximus,
thicker thighs to maintain stance slight tapering to ankle.

Re: Batman figure

The 1/6 Superman appears to have the same body. But Bats looks worse. Maybe has something to do with the utility belt...

I think the body that was shown at comic con last year was a little different than the one we saw batman on this year.
If superman were there I'm sure he would have looked about the same as batman.

Re: Batman figure

I think it is the belt, upon closer imspection this bulky belt makes his waist appear freakishly narrow. not sure how to fix that aside from maybe pouches attached to belt not on a loop might narrow it because currently these pouches are independently strewn onto the belt and that can create a lot of bulk. also less cluster of pouches might not make his bulk so severe to waist.

looking at it imagining belt isn't there it appears the belt is the eye sore elephant in the room. aside from collar but this is really a matter of taste because sideshows tailors can get rid of center stitch by making that pattern on fold line just near neck. and technically a neck piece could be their but it would look so movie version it would loose his comic book appeal.

there is a difference between comic book batman and movie batman i hope no one is confused about that.

Re: Batman figure

Found this video that talks about the figures a little.

Talks about batman at about the 1:03 mark.

Guess the other head will be another expression rather than an unmasked head.:monkey2

Re: Batman figure

I'd rather have another masked expression. I can't see myself displaying him unmasked.

I would prefer a nicely molded belt if it's impossible to get a sewn belt to look in scale.

This I actually agree I don't see the need to have a working belt, it's a novel idea just looks to bulky when actually used which is why he is a comic book character. most of the movie based batmans don't have ubber muscular bodies so they can support a wider belt because their more of a square body form.

body builder bodies tend to have a large upper body, more narrow waist and large legs, plus light colors like yellow tends to over emphasize the exaggerated thin waist to make it appear even more gaunt.

So I vote for a plastic belt maybe with slide in cubbys so you can hide baterangs in. which can be a simple slit in the faux pocket you can slide them into.

Re: Batman figure

they need to weather and add definition shading to the suit, doesn't suit the headsculpt atm

Yes, the belt definitely looks out of place. You would think a billionaire crime fighter could afford something a bit more elaborate than something that looks like it was stolen from a homeless person. It looks like a bunch of medieval coin purses attached to a canvas belt from the 99 cent store.

Re: Batman figure

I like the look of the batman, the head sculpt looks great and as far as the body goes maybe not the best but not a deal breaker for me, still looking to pre-order this as soon as it goes up.

Re: Batman figure

I personally love this batman and I am a picky person to buy batman stuff for. Im the type of person if I was dragged to judge a batman product before it got made into a proto judging from sketches and fabric choices I'd tell them if it was a hit or miss.

this batman is an 83% hit. Cape needs work and belt. He also needs more gadgets. this would improve his score with me. It's a hell of a lot higher than I gave DCD I wish I kept the comments I gave them. but id rate him as a 50% hit. He has too much wrong with him to be a complete hit. I don't care about movie versions because their mass produced that's why I probably wont own any hot toys outside of body parts.

Like I said Im a tough sell

Re: Batman figure

I was looking forward to pre-ordering this but after hearing in the video that this is already the new body they will be using, I might have to pass unless I see more pics showing better silhoutte of their new muscle body under the suit. With the prices nowadays I skip figures that warrant a costly body swap on top of its SRP.

That's my opinion though; I buy my figures according to my tastes, not based on the seal of approval of even the most "picky" collectors, as things are all in the eyes of the beholder.

Re: Batman figure

I don't claim to be an expert but I will say usually what I do like sells very well and what I don't usually doesn't like that bomb catwoman halley barry I begged Warner bro's exects to kill that movie. I saw bits of script and it was poor before release. I myself might just wait until ebay parts him out so I can get the parts I want.

Like I said Im using him to make my own. but out of all the batmen's I have seen he is really good. I think now the neckpiece from com should be added back that might help cape work better.

I don't expect anyone to be a lemming and buy what I say is cool I just think he will be a good seller.
