So I finally just got to see this in person and wasn't crazy about it due to the sculpted cape... But WOW what a difference the cloth cape makes. That's what Sideshow should have done and I'd have been sold! The whole point of the "Premium format" line was they were to be museum replicas. Not just 1/4 scale statues. Somewhere along the line they became statues with a few cloth pieces. I understand the difficulties they must find, but there's enough choices of statues out there already. And they did the 1/4 Superman the same way . I haven't bought one in awhile because of it.

When's the next batch due for release? Are they fixing any of the issues of the first ones or will it generally be the same?

Last I spoke with a CSR I was told no changes, ie pits and balance and face paint

Back of the cape looks fine....front, not so much

Front really should have gone over the shoulders and clasped over his neck. Looks off like that. I would keep the original sculpted cape for now

With the sculpted cape, this Batman pf has the perfect combination of mixed media for both fans of fabric and fully sculpted statues to enjoy. And this is coming from a guy whom pretty much prefers only sculpted statues. Same thing goes with the Superman pf. And I own both. I feel like I have more to look at rather than just staring at fabric. This piece has more than enough fabric to be categorized under "premium format".

Yeah, I agree 100%. There is plenty of mixed media in both Supes and Bats costumes. The sculpted capes add a nice dramatic flair to both pieces. The sculpted capes make both pieces a little more dynamic in my book. Prefer it much more to the cloth capes that just lay over the statues. I'm thrilled that SSC went with the sculpted capes. Not sure I would have picked up either Bats or Supes if their capes were cloth.

I feel the need to be forthcoming and say, previously I said I wouldn't ever get this PF because it didn't impress me, well it grew on me and now I must redact the aforesaid statement. All I can is, well, he's the g**damn Batman ok.

Additionally, looking forward to those new BW portraits too!
