Re: Catwoman figure

sdabbs, the battle damaged Catwoman in your link is amazing!

This figure is still an easy pass for me.
Chest area is pathetic. More like 'Catgirl'.
Eyebrows also wrong. Face too colorful.
Defending an action figures **** probably isn't much better than criticizing them, but jesus christ.

Re: Catwoman figure

Is it just me or does Catwoman's nose in the video look different compared to the SDCC 2013 pics?

Re: Catwoman figure

Well that particular design is a mix of Sideshow's creativity along with the Nu52 version, so it makes sense they take some liberties. I do agree with you I would love a decent Balent Catwoman statue. The current Balent pieces that exist aren't that great.

I agree I would love to see the Sideshow tailors get her made im sure they could make her thigh high boots look like thigh high boots and no thich high stockings. and they should be a matte leather like fabric. The whip should have a wire in it so it can pose straight up into the air.

I have a cat'o nine tails whip that I had made for my own bronze age costume yrs ago and a whip should have a life to it when you pose it.
and should have some weight to it to or at least the illusion of weight.

I don't know which jim ballent is better the magenta or purple because in some of the comics the color was not consistently straight purple.

Im thinking about buying the dc direct and adding rooted hair to her sculpt since the hair is removable and take that god awful costume off and make a pleather costume so she can look slinky. I snagged the whip from an old mattel dual set of batman and catwoman toyrs r us exclusive I think that will have better use for a better ballent catwoman.

But if sideshow made one that would cut out so much time out of my life.

Re: Catwoman figure

The only thing I wsh they change is the eye color. If they don't, oh well. I'm getting this one for sure.

when catwoman changed from jim ballent to this current chick she has blue green eyes not green like we are all used to, I suggest you cuss out dc comics like I did. you would think 50 yrs they would leave it alone.

I'm just tired of sideshow pulling the old switcharoo on us. Just give us what you show, and if you do make tweaks, maybe listen to what people say instead of doing what sideshow wants, hence the first Snake Eyes. Prototype, perfect. What we got, sucked!
I personally think that the sculpt on this particular prototype looked extremely good, give or take the little strand of hair coming down.

I don't think that was intentional, because sometimes a prototype is just made to look good under glass but when it comes to function changes are inevitable. It's like in France when you walk up to a bakery the pastries are made to look appetizing, when everyone knows the best tasting ones look like a mess.

Prototypes tend to be done months even a year before production, a cost analysis is done to determine if proto is to expensive to the public. then a more cost affordable alternative is made for wholesale. every company does this. as long as it's 80% similar it's acceptable.

people still buy the messy pie even though it doesn't look pretty like the window and people have been buying toys and collectables forever.
As long as they don't do what mattel did a 10 yrs back and made a collectable that looked nothing like the release which pissed everyone off and got swiftly removed from the catalogue.

Re: Catwoman figure

Some of you need to get a real woman.

Why? Cause our ideal 1/6 Catwoman differs from yours? Don't forget, you're on a Collectables forum... you're not better than anyone else who posts here and have no right to judge others on their interests.

The 'get a woman' line loses it's effect on here btw, chief.

Re: Catwoman figure

This is not the figure for you then. I would suggest Triad Toys. :dunno

And sorry you have no woman, youngling.

Re: Catwoman figure

This really is a great looking figure. So much better than last year's version from SDCC. This should be going up for PO any day now, no?

Re: Catwoman figure

Re: Catwoman figure

Has it been mentioned if this figure is getting an alternate head sculpt, like the other DC figures?
