SSC Cobra Viper

I like the guards. I was thinking about giving them a black wash to darken them up a little, but that's it.

This figure is my favorite since Firefly. Got a short neck from Marc Dorkness, all the way from China. Still huge compared to the other troopers, though.

I wonder if the CG's will be as tall.

Change the bodies of the Troopers to the one Firefly came with, problem solved.

The shin guards would've looked much better if they were molded with the contour of the boot more making them look more narrow and fitted.

I'm just debating switching out the body as i hate the baggy hip area but, at the same time after futzing i can live with it. XD

Sorry to hear that Dino. I was actually thinking that TA was to part more out last night, but got bored waiting and looked at the Viper at MD and luckily, found the parts listed even before they were listed on the home page.
MD is the way to go, better prices and more affordable shipping options. my order total for the Helmet, full Uniform, and Gauntlets was $34.87 that's with $2.90 shipping.
If anyone is interested in price comparing, the ACR on MD was $24.99 with all the fixings.

Evilface, how difficult is it to remove the bumps on the front of the boot tops that line up the shin guards?
Sucks that Sideshow added those stupid guards, they really detract from the figure more then anything else.

Trim em off with a xacto or blade and sand smooth. I dug a little too deep on one of them.

Yeah, I know I'd F' it up on both, it's why I'm hesitant to attempt it, but the boots look better then anything else out there after the modification.

I still love TA, they part out some great things, but when on a budget, MD will get my money.

Thanks. That's a lot of new bodies, but I'll keep it in mind if I can't deal with it. It's amazing the difference half a centimeter makes.

Awesome shots legendary Hunter ! I like the extra gear it's a great looking figure. I never got the regular Cobra Trooper but now i'm passing it over for a few Vipers instead !

I know this is the SSC Viper thread but I just want some opinions on a figure I put together over the weekend. It's really the first figure I ever customized.

This is my rendition of GI Joe Quick Kick. Equipped with Nun Chuks and
his lucky kick boxing gloves of which he won many tournaments around the world-before moonlighting as a Hollywood stuntman and then joining the Joes . (Quick Kick was in the movies if I recall ?)

I hope you guys like it but I don't mind taking my licks .

not bad....the sculpt looks a little cartoonish but not bad by any means...

Not bad. I think toning down the lips would help with the face a bit.

I can accept the camo, but here are 2 elements I would add that would make him jump out as Quick Kick and not just a soldier. Headband and red scarf. If you put a red scarf over his shoulder and put a few of the stars in it 100% improvement right away.

I got my 2nd Viper last night, man I wish I had another TTA. I put him on a narrow shoulder TT and he looks ok. Gave him a different assault rifle and added the subdued patches to give him an officer look.
