I'm happy for your guys! :rock

I want pics from everyone, thoughts and reviews....and specifically, QC reports/comments.

Sorry for the quality of the pics here but I guess it is the golden rule of these forums, first in-hand photos are always the worst. Anyway, even bad pics can't really take away from this guy. I assure you he's awesome!

Thanks, so what are your overall thoughts of it in person? In terms of the overall quality, materials and size etc?

I didn’t actually get a look at the batteries because they were already installed and had one of those little plastic ripcords that just needs to be removed to allow the power flow. But it looks like they would be those little lithium cell watch type batteries. The light feature is very responsive. It actually works without even touching the dent on his head, a slight hover of your finger tip will do.

I don't believe the body or base are solid polystone right down to the core but each piece has a good weight to it overall, especially when he's fully assembled. Everything that is except for the head which was surprisingly light. I thought I read somewhere that the head was going to be polystone too. In any case it still looks good and I like that you can articulate the jaw. For a stone faced robot there's a lot of character and life to his face.

Everything is held in place with good strong magnets but the feet are just set into deep sockets in the base. Make sure those are flush all around before you start building him up though. I found afterwards that mine need a bit of a wiggle to settle down fully. If you try to pull the body up off the legs when the feet aren't fully settled you're likely to lift him right out of the base.

Overall if you liked what you've seen so far between pics at the cons and Sideshow's website you won't be disappointed. It's pretty much what you were expecting, which is a good thing. :)

That's good to hear. This was one of my favorite pieces at SDCC two years ago so I've been crossing my fingers that he turned out nice.

Looks really nice V8, thanks for the pics! Do you have any concerns about the thin points on the arms and legs? Also is the head the tiniest bit undersized or is that my mind playing tricks? In any case I am excited to get this but still have no email from Sideshow.

Thanks! No the head didn't really strike me as being undersized. It looks right to me but the pose while still nicely balanced is leaning back quite a lot so the angle of some photos might give that illusion. I have no concerns over the thin parts of the arms or legs. Those are quite solid and given the scale of him they're probably thicker than they might appear in photos.

:duff Thanks!

Excited to get him in!

Everything to love about a polystone statue, big solid with great detail. Light up feature works great and is very easy.

I love the profile look on the pose, which I know sounds weird, but I love the lean.

I'm so excited to get this in-hand. Keep those pics coming, everyone!!
