This is the first sideshow figure i'm going to buy since the G.I. JOE line, sad about the Macready figure, maybe Sideshow will pick that license up... I hope someone does.

I'm guessing it'll be $229. Any ideas as to what the Exclusive might be? Maybe a glass of "the medicine", or Egg's Six-Demon Bag?
I ordered that book from Amazon a couple weeks back. There are two of them. The Art of Big Trouble in Little China, and the Making of Big Trouble in Little China. Both are excellent, with lots of interesting info.
To be fair, there was certainly a time where sideshow was a leader in the collectible industry, particularly taking into account the statues, PFs, and Busts. They've fallen behind a little in the figures, but the improvement is noticeable. When it comes to paint job/sculpt I've been very happy with their recent figures. The Indy Jones as an excellent likeness and paint (although the hair seam is unfortunate), Punisher also has a great sculpt (although skin tone looks a little too dark), and the Wolverine is excellent all around. Hoping the trend continues!!!

How did I miss this...?!

I see what you did there. :lol

If the final product turns out anything close to that pic this would be a must buy for me. Love the movie, wish HT would do more of this in between the never ending super hero fare.

Any idea when this could be released?

My fav John Carpenter flick. Excited to see how this turns out. then again...it's SS tho.

great to know that there are fans of the Plissken Figure sideshow did. I think this looks even better and a definite buy for sure

Did anyone see these photos? From the art of Jack Burton book, courtesy of Sideshow artist Anthony Mestas:

I must say, they impressed the hell out of me. If Sideshow can deliver something even close to that, it'll be a must buy.

If they can go through all the work to get the details and sculpt near perfect on this figures, why the heck couldnt they put that much effort into Snake?...To me, Plissken is much more an iconic character than Jack Burton...

Personally I'm still not sold on the likeness. I wish I was, but there's something not quite right about it that I can't put my finger on. Hopefully it's just the angles throwing things off, and looks like the recent Ash is set to turn out better than expected, so I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong. We'll see.

They both are, but BTinLC seems to have a larger cult following as of late over Escape, and there's been no talk about a remake on that either. To my knowledge anyway...

I don't expect perfection but this looks more than good enough for something I don't see being made again anytime soon. Glad it's up for po soon.
