Hot Toys are usually pretty observant of secondary market prices and like to get in on the action when they can.

Considering they haven't finished the obvious ESB figures yet, I imagine it is only a question of time until they bring out a killer version of this Luke. I'd guess it as this year at this point. Next year latest, when there are not any Star Wars films.

Yeah there are some characters that I'm not quite as confident about (Hoth Han, Boushh, Jabba), but Snowspeeder Luke is one that I'm almost certain HT will eventually get around to.

I think they have to do Hoth Luke and Hoth Han, because although the Sideshow figures are decent, they are just not up to snuff.

The TaunTaun however, that’s a piece that I think people will look at 50 years from now, and still say:

“Wow, that looks great!”

E9 will make a fortune. But no one will care.

HT will still make OT figures and some PT figures.

Medicom will continue to suck.

Agreed. We'll see them fulfill their Rey and Kylo obligation. Maybe a new trooper and palpatine if he does turn out to be the big bad of the film. Can't see a whole lot releasing past that.

Works for me. The sooner the return to OT and rogue one figures the better :lecture

I have two - one (Dagobah version) is mostly a custom creation (HT boots, custom "Muppet Show" style blaster,) the other has the jacket slimmed down, neck modded to look up more and has custom grenade and harpoon gun. Both figs have custom chestbox (a heavy mod of the Hasbro one)as I feel the SSC one is too small. I also removed the cold weather undergarment pants on both, as well as the padding suit.

I'm playing around with the new Luke HT head for the dago version. This has a heavily modded Snowspeeder hairpiece.

Where did you get the grappling gun - rifle from?

They both look great

This is not mine, it is from an older post here, it is simply one of the best looking custom figures I have ever seen, amazing:

Sounds like a sweet plan to me. Bring me more of that grungy lived in OT / Rogue One goodnees.

Oh......The Mandalorian and Cassian series. I think they got it in the end. [emoji1360]

Thanks - the grappling gun and grenade (clipped to chest like in ATAT scene) are 100% scratch-built, the unique Muppet Show/Dagobah arrival blaster (higher/more spaced scope, greeblies and flash suppressor different) is maybe 50% scratch built.

The grappling gun and grenade are almost impossible to find good ref pics on, but I managed to dig out some very obscure bts pics to get the detailing and scale right.

The body looks thinner (at least to me). Anyways, crazy great stuff

The coat can be quite significantly futzed, but it also helps to cut out the sleeves from the jumpsuit beneath. That's what I did on mine.

The material they used for the jacket is so perfect - it's a very good match to the costume (the Luke jacket's a copy of the Walrusman coat from ANH but is not leather like that one and has different pleating - it's a sail-like material) but also is quite delicate for futzing and holds poses. Cut/sew on the Sideshow coat is scary good - best they've done.

I would love to see what HT would do with a Snowspeeder Luke. While the jacket and quite a few pieces are spot-on from Sideshow (the white bib is brilliant, and the jumpsuit is superior to the HT Imp Gunner one, helmeted sculpt really is great) they still messed up on stuff like the chestbox (too small - mine are both custom replacements) and belt (not sure where to start.) I prefer sculpted snowboots over the HT pleather ones, but the Sideshow boots paint isn't great.

Yeah I think that's probably the best I've seen the figure look. Even though I've never been the biggest fan of that sculpt, it's still the best option out there and allows you to display it without the helmet on, which to me has always been the much cooler look.
