I know. Even though I have no plans to get it, I'm still kinda dying to see what the final figure looks like already.

Just checked the release date for this - June. ****! 15 months after the PO, and probably nearly two years after it was initially previewed.
It was never really previewed. Just had the teaser and went up for sale a week later.
Probably since they had most of the parts laying around from their other recent Luke figures.
In fact as parra had pointed out, this figure has never actually been shown in person before. Might be 100% photoshop.
Jawa was sideshow exclusive. No other US retailers got them. This isn't, outside of the version with the bare hands. So TA should get plenty of these if there's demand for enough of the parts (outside the new ones) after they break down the first batch or two.
This doesn't have as much reuse as you'd expect (or assume, based on SSC"s track record) - as far as I can tell, there are all-new gloves, gauntlets, Hoth boots (not same sculpt as Han/Luke Hoth,) hands and even the gun belt is an all-new item (that looks closer to the HT Bespin belt than the SSC Luke Hoth belt, which you'd assume they would have re-used.)
The presumed reuse would be helmet (though a repaint,) under flightsuit, breather unit/flak vest, pistol and sabers, flares/belt.
Where do you see the second bare hands version? I thought there was just the one version for the U.S. market exclsuive to SSC just like the Jawa, but it was at international places like PC.
It says "Exclusively available through Sideshow.com. Limited availability in select international territories," though it doesn't say that on the Jawa (though the Jawa is in-stock and this is PO.)
It's always a bit tricky to figure this out, but it's a pretty key question on this fig because everyone wants that jacket.
I was being tongue in cheek about the re-used parts. I still just thought the Sideshow exclusive was the bare hand version and then there was one that didn't have that (like X-wing Luke).
Like Alter Ego had him but there's no shot of the bare hands, so I just thought it was a standard exlclusive/non-exclusive release like Darth Maul (but you actually can't find him on AE anymore except on google search). And other places had him as well (Timewalker toys) but seem to have taken down their listings completely. There's was up a couple weeks ago via a good search, but wasn't available on a search of their site. And now it's totally gone. Strange.

But maybe they changed it due to lack of orders and switched it to Exclusive only. I'm not seeing a regular on Sideshow's site like you can usually find. This page does imply that there's a regular as it highlights the Exclusive extras:

I'm blowing my total $130 in RP on this, then my long-saved Pennies at PC on the SSC Dengar, then I'm all done with Sideshow figs, barring a 1/6 second coming. Feels a bit weird, but my prices-to-earnings ratio just doesn't compute anymore. A $250+ SSC Admiral Ackbar just isn't going to happen for me.
I'm leaning toward no now for TA. I'm pretty sure this was canceled in terms of their other US vendors. Originally it did seem that US sellers had him (no bare hands version) but those no longer exist so maybe there's just the one release with those "exclusive" accessories.
Crazy how their price is this high and yet there isn't enough margin to have other sellers sell him. Have to say it doesn't sound so implausible anymore that they'd get out of the SW 1/6 game. Doesn't seem like they're having an easy go of it.
You know the biggest discount at PC with pennies is $50AUD (around $38USD at the moment) right? Technically there's a 10% discount for more pennies, but for Dengar alone this discount would use more pennies and get you less than the $50AUD.
Yeah, I struggled to understand that system. I think I've got a bit over 1800 pennies, but they only allow you to use them at certain thresholds, so I really can only use 1500 and I think that's $50 off. But yeah beyond 2000 they dump you into the 10% pile and you lose some discount for Dengar, so I'm glad I didn't have that extra 200 pennies.
I think Dengar ships in 2023 so I'll have to watch the penny level until then. I guess I should just pull the trigger now.
This Luke Snowspeeder fig is AU$410 at popcultcha.
Yeah collecting in Australia can be fun price wise. But at least we don't have the customs charges they do in Europe, well at least not until the governments proposed legislation to charge that comes into effect.
$50 off is still nice. It can make the cost of some figures more affordable. But, if you do go over the points threshold, you can choose a lower level to redeem and only pay the applicable points for the level you've chosen.
Fair enough. Has there been any indiction from Hot Toys that they will be going ANH, ESB then ROTJ ? Sure there is ESB Yoda. But other than him there isn't anything else from Hot Toys announced as far as I know. They could be just doing original trilogy core characters. As you said TonTon they've got enough on their plate for the coming 3-4 years. Would be so good to know a little of their rough plan.
